Luminous
Part 1, Origin
Long long ago, i was in a nest of special dragon eggs. It is strange, for you see, there were over a dozen eggs in that nest, mabye twenty, but they were all a pale, simple, colour of white. Nothing else, just white. No patterns, not even a single tiny speck of colour was on those eggs. I was one of those eggs. My egg, however, was the only egg in the nest, possibly the world, that actually had a glow to it. And the only egg in the nest with colour. There were three small, little spirals that went around on my eggshell. They were a pale, sky- blue cyan colour, and... They glowed. Glowed, like the sun, like the flames of a monster's breath. Glowing, pure and fresh. The light that reflected was like the droplets from the cleanest water in the world, streaming down the most beautiful waterfall ever.
One more week, when the eggs were a few days away from hatching, a black dragon had found the nest whilst he was exploring the mountainside. He flew back to his home- a dragon- made castle it seemed- and brought a whole pack of black dragons to see the nest. They decided to destroy the eggs, smash them, crack them, and mabye eat some of them. But, then they saw my egg. They saw how it was different from all the other white eggs. They decided that it must be different for a reason, that it was... Special. So, instead of breaking the egg and killing or eating me inside of it, they decided to take the egg back to their almighty castle.
They put me and my egg onto a pedestial, a special golden column with a red cusion on top. The top of the column was shaped to fit the most special, most valuable, most magical egg ever onto it... But, instead, they put me onto it. One female black dragon, decided to be my mother. She learnt about caring for hatchlings in the past, and teaching them how to be a black dragon, a... Dark dragon. She watched over her new, glowing- white- blue egg almost every day, sitting by the pedestial, staring at me, or, my egg, as I was out of view.
When I finally hatched, my new mother grabbed my egg as it cracked and put it on the ground so I had more room to break the egg. I broke it, and pushed away the eggshells from my body....... As the cold air rushed in, I stalled for a moment, almost frozen solid I believe. I looked at my mother, and she had almost glowing- like red eyes, you could hardly see her orange- redish split pupil. Her colour was almost black, a really dark purple that got lighter as it reached the edge of the skin on her wings and feet. The tip of her tail was almost completely purple. She was a beautiful black dragon.
She took me, and the first thing that happened was that almost all the other black dragons came to see me. I looked almost exactly like my egg. I was pure white, with only three curls of pale, sky blue colour on one of my wings, across my neck, and going down my tail. They glowed faintly in the bright light. I had two small horns that shone a beautiful, solid cyan. I shined in the light. She took me outside the castle to a river, with three other dragons to protect her, incase any monsters came to try and steal me. The river ran from a jungle, and down into a small moat that ran halfway around the castle walls. She held me, slightly in the river, and allowed the water to wash me clean.
As I grew older, she taught me everything about being a black dragon in her home. She even taught me to speak Dragonian (dragon-language) when I was only a few months old. That is very young, especially compared with other dragons that can live for millions of years. She told me the story of me being here, and tried to teach me how to fly a little bit too soon. She threw me off the roof of our home and I forgot that I even had wings.
When I grew up old enough, she made me go to the castle moathouse (its a large school- like building near the bridge across the moat) so I could learn Dragonian a bit better, and teach me how to survive in the wild. I didnt really like it, and all the other hatchlings teased me about how I was different from them. Nobody would like to play with me, and nobody saw me as a possible friend.
