I was sitting in one of those extremely uncomfortable chairs that the waiting rooms in doctors offices have waiting for my counselor to determine a date for me of leave the Mental Health Institute of Yankton, South Dakota about 20 mintues south from my hometown.
I had only been waiting for about 10 minutes when the anxiety kicked in and I felt like I had been waiting for hours on end. Finally what I had been waiting for ," Michelle Jones, the doctor is ready to see you."
I took a deep breath stood up and walked to the door that lead to a long carpeted hallway with relaxing pictures framed of Some of the most beautiful landscapes you will ever see in your lifetime. The hallway contained dark stained wood doors on either side of the hallway filled with counselors and patients with problems as bad as mine or maybe even worse. Dr. Josh stewards who was my counselor was the last door on the right side of the hallway right next to the men's restroom.
I knocked on the door making a patern best friends do when they arrive at each others houses for their first sleep over. "Come in Michelle," I heared dr. Stewards call to me.
I so I grabbed the ice cold, silver stainless steal door handle and opened the door in a fluid motion, "hey dr. Stewards," I greeted him.
"Good morning, Michelle take a seat," I followed Dr. Steward arm with my eyes as he swiftly pointed to yet another one of those uncomfortable doctor office like chairs.
