A/N
Hey you guys, me and my best friend, REALLY appreciate the reads, like thank you sooooo much from both of us really, so yeah let's get to that story shall we----------------------
I got dressed into my basketball jersey and pants, and my Jordan's. There was a soft knock at the door. "Coming" I ran over and opened my dorm door. Ashley, a cheerleader, stood in the doorway, already in her uniform. "Hey big shot" there was a twinkle in her eyes. "You know... You should get going... To your game, I mean. Wow, you have really-" "Ashley, please leave." Ashley was an evil girl who had a serious crush on me. "But Noah, I can't help-" "Ashley, you're not aloud in the boy's dorm. Get out!" "Fine... asshole." She strode out, stomping away.
Sweat stung my eyes as I walked home from the game. We lost because of me... Again. I just can't focus. First, I have Ashley screaming my name every few seconds, and second, I can't stop thinking about that girl I saved. She just looked so much like Alex... whatever. It can't be her. Definitely not. Could it be?
I sat on my bed doing my science homework. My roommate, Josh, was at a party with his girlfriend, so I was alone in the dorm. Then, I got a text. 954-240-6273. Oh god. The text read: "Who knew a little freshman could beat up the biggest poop-brained person in the school?" I text back: "Tell me who you are, right now" "My real name is none of your concern, but call me Raven." So it's not Alex. "Why are you texting me?" "Just meet me in the park tomorrow... At 8:00 P.M." What the hell is going on?
The next day, I arrived at the park, the mosquitos buzzing around my head. I saw queer man in a chair, wearing dark sunglasses, reading a newspaper. I walked over. "Sir? Are you... Raven?" "Who in the name of all hell is Raven?" "Sorry... Sorry..." I walked around a little, until I saw the girl that I saved. "Raven?" "That's me." "How do you know so much about me and Alex?" By her voice, I could tell it wasn't Alex. "That is definitely none of your business." She was beautiful, yes, but she looked nervous... Yet stronger than I am. Then, the man that was reading a newspaper whispered in my ear. "Alex, hmm? What's Alex's... Last name?" Raven's eyes got wide. I didn't know what to do, until I heard him cock his gun. "Rosey. Alex Rosey." I said quickly... Too quickly. "Alex Rosey... Ey? You know... I know a girl named Alex Rose Johnson. Do you happen to know her?" "Oh um... Wasn't she the one who..." I choked on the words; "died in the crash a couple years ago?" "How would you remember such a thing? That was a long time ago." He pointed the gun at my temple. I could feel my heartbeat in my throat. Before I could answer, Raven did. "She's my sister. I yap about her and grieve about her and I just talk about her a lot." It sounded so real. "And I went to school with her" I added. He put his finger on the trigger. He asked a question, but the sound of my heart overpowered it. He asked something else, and I could make out tiny words of it. "I... Already... You... Is... Name?" "Noah Jonathan Anderson..." I trailed off. I became to feel lightheaded. "Great... Thanks Noah." He said. I heard a loud bang... The loudest thing I've ever heard. I then felt something so painful on my foot that I fell over. The man walked away. I saw Raven's pale pink hair and bright blue eyes over me. Then I heard a screech so loud it hurt my ears. "Noah!" Is what it said. But before the pain made me pass out, I noticed that the voice was familiar... Sweet... Light... Alex's.
I woke up in the hospital, a bandage around my numb foot, and Raven in the chair across from the bed. The hospital's shirt and pants felt awkward with a girl around... Especially such a pretty one. I turned over, and I guess she heard, because her blue eyes shot a look at me. For some reason, she was wearing a mask that covered her mouth. "Hey sleepyhead." "Hey Raven ... Do you know who that girl that screamed was? When I passed out?" Her eyes flickered away from me. "Me. Now no more questions." I didn't dare to ask anymore questions about that night... Except one. "Raven... What happened to your face?" I said, referring to the bloody scratches on her face. "I tried to knock the guy out... But he fought back." "Oh" No more questions from me.
I walk around campus on my crutches everyone asking what happened. I replied with "I broke my foot when I was biking" every time. It was Raven's suggestion, since if that guy hears about me saying he shot my foot, I'll be dead. She didn't explain why though. Anyway, I will find Alex. I will.
