You stood in the banquet hall of familiar faces toasting and chatting quietly. Your husband Brendon was no where in sight. He was probably off with his buddies throwing back shot after shot. Part of you couldn't believe he had disappeared at his own wedding reception but the other part of you knew his childish nature and forgave him. You were flooded with complements on everything from the blush you had used to the color scheme of the reception. Your eyes searched the crowds for that perfectly quiffed hair as Elvis' Can't Help Falling in Love With You played over the speakers. Your cousin Jake offered to dance seeing the worry in your eyes. You smiled at him nervously Bremdon's strong arms snaked around your waist and spun you around. You could smell the wine on his breath as he whispered quietly, "You didn't think I'd let them play some shitty, cliché soundtrack at our wedding did you?" The black jacket you had to force him to wear had been replaced by a bright red coat. You smiled up at him, "Of course not." The two of you moved swiftly across the floor to the small stage where your father and distant cousins were already making drunken toasts. Brendon led you up the stairs to a chair as he wrestled a microphone from your father as he told the story of when you brought Brendon home for the first time, "I'll let you finish in a minute y/d/n but I'd like to sing a little something first." You felt your face heat up as he looked at you with a smirk on his face. He knelt in front of you taking your hand as he began to sing.
Do I look lonely?
I see the shadows on my face
People have told me I don't look the same
Maybe I lost weight
I'm playing hooky, with the best of the best
Put my heart on my chest, so that you can see it too
I'm walking the long road, watching the sky fall
The lace in your dress tingles my neck, how do I live?
The death of a bachelor
Oh
Letting the water fall
The death of a bachelor
Oh
Seems so fitting for
Happily ever after
Oo
How could I ask for more?
A lifetime of laughter
At the expense of the death of a bachelor
Your eyes followed him as he moved across the stage. His voice cracked and he laughed quietly, "y/d/n, I think this would be a good time to finish your story." He handed off the microphone and returned to you. You both walked to the back of the banquet hall hand in hand as he leaned close and whispered, "I love you, so much y/n."A/N y/d/n stands for your dad's name
Also this is my first imagine so sorry if it's not too great. The more I think about it why would you even want this to be sung at your wedding WHATEVER IT WAS GOOD AT THE TIME
