Soundlessly observing the nearby village, the boy hid in the border of the dark woods. The obscure sounds of mystical creatures didn't seem to frighten the young man at all. No, his attention was utterly taken by the young girl sprawled contentedly among the colourful wildflowers of the open field.
She was accompanied by two young children - a boy and a girl - who he assumed to be her siblings. Only, these children shared no resemblance to their sister. Whilst the pair of infants had graceful chestnut-brown hair and deep, russet eyes, the other was a sight which he had never seen before.
When she turned, with a bright smile spread across her elegant face, all he could notice was her wild, flame-red hair, which somewhat resembled the setting sun behind her; her ice blue eyes, which seemed so cold that icy shivers were sent down his spine; and her ivory skin, which seemed deathly-pale but was brought back to life by the small patch of pink on her cheeks. Whilst the girl wasn't the most beauteous he had seen on his long travels, she was certainly the most compelling.
For a few long moments, the young boy continued gazing at the girl and her siblings (who were seemingly having an enjoyable time).
The girl's unusual appearance only complimented her unusual person. Even if she didn't yet know it herself, this girl was very special indeed. Of course, until now, the boy had very highly doubted that she would have been as promising as many people thought. 'A girl who was no more than a child – growing up in a peaceful village? How could she ever be successful in completing her destiny?' However, he was wrong - and he was just beginning to realise this.
Perhaps - maybe - this young girl would be the only way to restore peace to the world once again. Perhaps, this time, there will be little bloodshed and no harm will come to humanity. He hoped more than anything else that this was possible - but he wasn't convinced. It had been such a disaster last time, who was to say it wasn't going to be even worse - because, that's what he wants, he wants to be even more murderous than ever...
Attempting to push all of the terrible memories of his past out of his head, he concentrated once again on the girl. The small boy had fallen over and she was attempting to reassure him that everything will be fine. Her cold eyes only projected pure warmth and kindness.
'Yes,' the boy thought. 'She is much more than a child.'
