1-3-16 forty two days clean
I feel you in my bones when my breath turns black

I go hunting for a trace of you on the streets of this dead city, knowing you belong with the corpses on the sidewalk.

I never thought I'd want your shaded in silhouette and ice cold love running up my spine but here we are.

I see you snake your way in through the cracks in the walls and I'm not scared this time. You make me like 'em a bit scary and dark.

We'll call you Change for the alterations you've made inside of my head, for now I beg to see blood pour through the ventilation systems and skeletons hiding in every closet.

Tonight, I'll let your pale fingertips look and feel real. I'll let your deadly whispers sound like affection. I'll let your violent crashes through the room feel like you're simply rearranging again.

And tomorrow, I'll wait for you to drain the color from my eyes and the blood from my face again. I'll wait for you.

God, you scare the hell out of me, but it's easier to handle when I'm in love with you.
