CHAPTER 2: THE DOOR
“Yo, get up!” Lin heard still half asleep. She partly lifted the lids on her eyes to reveal a blurry picture of what seemed like a girl. “Lin, come on, get up!” She tried rubbing her eyes as if to give herself a better picture. Finally, the blurry sight transformed itself to a clear form of Albee. “What?” she questioned a bit confused by Albee’s hurry. “Nothing, I just want you to see this” Albee continued. Lin uncovered herself and pushed her bright red hair to the back of her body. She was rather tall, and very busty. Her hair was about the length from her head to the top of her shoulders. She had a pale complexion and her eyes were dark and mysterious. Overall, Lin was an exceptionally attractive woman.
Both girls walked towards the scene that had made Albee so uneasy. Lin turned her look over to Albee, “Okay, so what is it” she asked. Albee lifted her arm and pointed her long skinny finger to a small door. Lin had never seen it, but apparently it had always been there. It was right next to an old night stand that had been left in the dorm room since the day both girls moved in or maybe longer. “I haven’t seen it before, why is it so small?” Lin questioned. “It’s not meant for anyone to go in, it is like a secret door to hide stuff; I just moved the night stand because it was covering it” Albee answered while moving towards the door. “But guess what, I found this weird book inside it” Albee continued as she opened the door and grabbed the book. “Let me see it; is it like an old book?” Lin asked. “I don’t know, I think so, it seems old and creepy too”.
She handed the book to Lin. It was small, and its squared shape was hardly recognizable with all the corners chipped off. To the right side of the odd book was a dusty locket. But to their relief, it was unlocked because it seemed to have broken. Lin slid the tip of her black polished nail under the front cover of the leathery book, and lifted it open. She took a look at the front page, it read, “Dear Diary, April 19th, 1944. I have been having these terrible nightmares. I just had one right now. It was about a girl. She was running away from me…I think I was going to kill her. She turned back as she slipped on the wet grass and her blond hair and dripping mascara turned with her look, right at me. I heard this dark evil laugh, and then a voice that told me do it you bitch. I could only see my hands, I was holding an ax. The girl put her now dirty arm from the wet soil that rubbed on it from her accidental slip in front of her face. I lifted the ax and gripped the crispy wooden handle attached to it. I wasn’t in control, something was commanding my movements. I felt as the ax entered her flesh, and I heard the cracking of her bones and the screeches of pain that left her mouth. I even felt the blood splatter onto my face. This is just my latest nightmare; I have been having these for about two weeks. I just wrote it down so that I won’t forget it”.
“Wow that is so disturbing” Albee said. “Yeah, poor girl, I wonder who she was” Lin added. “We will find out later, we can read the rest of the diary together after we are done with our classes, it is 7 am I’m going to get ready” Albee said finishing their exploration of the newly discovered book. “Alright, I’m going to put the book back into the door” Lin said to Albee while approaching the small opened door.
After Albee showered, Lin walked in to the bathroom. She placed her white cotton towel onto the sink top and pushed the small metal button on the knob to lock the door. She let her silky, pink pajama dress fall to her feet and placed herself inside the cold tub. As she turned the hot water on her body felt a flash of cold chilling waves down through her spine. She quickly turned her body around to see what was causing such feeling, but there was nothing to be seen. She went back about her business and showered herself clean. Albee was waiting on a chair. When Lin walked out of the bathroom she noticed she had spent almost 30 minutes in the shower as Albee leveled her cell phone to Lin’s face. “Oh gosh, sorry, I’ll dress quickly” Lin said. “Okay, and wear something appropriate but hot Lin, just in case we run into Dan” Albee added with a chuckle.
