Ludwig beilschmidt is a complicated character to role play as, then again, which character isn't?

He is serious when it comes to political issues and is very tidy. On many occasions, Germany appears to be very inexperienced and/or confused about love and romance.

Usually, Ludwig is portrayed to be greatly mournful and regretful about WWII. While WWII was going on, he had to have the political views of his boss, who was adolf hitler. After years of that awfulness, it had to emotionally damage him at a Very high level.

He has a pessimistic nature and loves dogs. He also is a sadist, meaning he gains sexual pleasure by inflicting pain on others (kinky sex could be an example). It is also Canon he is a fan of BDSM (if you do a BDSM smut, please make it how it is supposed to be! Consented, and for the pleasure of all participating people)

Germany has many relationships based off of political ties. For example, Switzerland being his trade partner, Austria being occupied by Germany in the past, and Italy and Japan being his WWII allies.

It is believed that Germany was formerly known as Holy Rome. It's a logical theory, but upon doing more research I found that Prussia is more likely to be Holy Rome before he was the Teutonic Knights.
