The Secrets Within

New Paths

I was feeling hopeless for a while. It was a week after moving and we finally have gotten everything from our old house shipped over. The house we moved into was Victorian styled and big, just down the street is a boarding school where I will soon be going.

It was almost 9:30 in england, it felt like it was only 4 and I wasn't at all used to the time schedule I had to be on. I have school tomorrow and I couldn't sleep.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

My alarm clock went off at 7 am, I only got about 5 hours of sleep and I'm thankful I fell asleep so I could at least be somewhat energized.

"Felicity! Come on, breakfast! Hurry up, you can't be late on your first day!" My mother called from the kitchen.

I ran downstairs and ate my breakfast. I then got in the car and let my dad dive me to school.

"Have fun sweetie! Good luck!" My dad shouted as I walked up the stairs and into the school.

Wow was my first thought, it was very big, open, and Victorian. I grabbed out my schedule and started to find my chemistry class.

Hmph

"Oh! I'm so sorry! Let me help you!" I bumped into a tall brunette girl.

"Its okay, I'm fine. Are you- are you new here?" The girl questioned.

"Yeah, I'm Felicity. Felicity McAlister." I said firmly.

"Well, nice to meet you Felicity! I'm Karma!" She reached out her hand for mine.

"Nice to meet you too, I'm glad I'm making friends at least." I replied as we started walked together.

"What's your next class?" I handed her my schedule.

"Wow! You got lucky! I'm in all of your classes!" She shrieked with joy.

"Yay! I won't be alone!" I shrieked along, as we walked to our class.

I stepped inside to see a class full of kids staring at me with anticipation as Karma headed to her seat.

"Well, you must be our new student! I'm Mr. Woods." He turned to the class, "Students this is your new classmate, Ms. Felicity McAlister. Please go seat yourself next to Fabian." He pointed to a dark haired boy with rosy red cheeks as I quietly took my seat.

Buzzzz

I got a text: "Ahh! He's totally into you!"

I replied: "Karma? And who?"

Karma: "Of course silly, and Fabian duhh!"

Me: "No way! Do I look okay though?"

Karma: "Yes! Go get 'em tiger, but after class of course."

RING

Class was finally oout after what seemed like forever. I walked out of class and grabbed out books for my next class.

"Hey, you're the new girl, Felicity right?" A male voice asked from behind me, I turned to see... Fabian.

"Uh- yeah I um- came from america. You're Fabian." I stuttered.

"Oh yeah. Uh, cool." He rested his hand on the back of his neck.

"Oh cool you guys met! I was wondering if we could all hang out this weekend? Maybe at your house Felicity" Karma walked up to Fabian and I.

"Yeah sure, as long as Felicity is cool about it." Fabian responded.

"Yeah totally! Friday, 3 pm?"
"Okay cool!" Fabian said as he walked away.

The day went on really smooth and it turns out Fabian has all classes with me and Karma. Later that day I went home tired as can be. I headed upstairs and didn't say a word to my parents about my day. I was missing my old friends but I was happy with the new ones I've met.

I went up to my room that was finally finished and looked around a bit. I was looking in the closet and discovered a hidden panel with a locket inside.

"What is this?" I muttered under my breath.

I opened the locket to find a picture of a woman. The locket was an odd shape kind of oval and fragile, with a few diamonds and one big ruby in the center. It was beautiful. I clasped the locket around my neck and climbed into bed.

I shut off the lamp on my nightstand and layed awake in bed until I seen a red glow coming from beside me. It was a small drawer, glowing red towards the bottom of the stand.
I got up out of bed, turned my lamp on and croutched down next to the drawer. All of a sudden, my locket started to glow the same vibrant red. I reached down for the locket and held it up to the drawer, there was a shape the same as the locket carved in. I put the locket on the spot on the drawer and it opened up.

Inside the drawer was a note:
To find what treasure lays at the end, you first must find the secrets within.

"Hmm... Weird." I muttered.

I decided to put the letter back in the drawer, and locked it with the locket. It was strange. This feeling of uncertainty, but it felt like destiny or fate for me to find this. I just don't know what the letter meant. I need sleep I thought. I tucked the letter into my nightshirt and shut my lamp off. I sat quietly at first until I drifted off to sleep.

The next morning I got up and walked to school. I ran up to Fabian and Karma.

"Guys, you will never believe the strange dream I had! There was a magical locket and a drawer that opened with it! It was crazy and weird bit it felt so real!" I said esthetically. I reached around my neck and to my surprise I found the locket from last night.

"Is that a locket? Or the locket I should say?" Fabian asked me.

"-What? I thought it was a dream..." I trailed off. "There was a note in the drawer, more like a letter or even a clue."

"What did it say?" Karma was curious.
