As Rathurn Burns.

Chapter 3 : Amicus

We arrived three days later. After what felt like years of wandering through forests and woods we arrived.

Amicus itself left me speechless . Never before had I seen a river with water so clean . Never before had I seen such fine linen that could have only come from the finest of flax. The streets were decorated with gold and bronze ornaments . Everyone wore the clothes of aristocracy but only the nobles wore fine pearls and jewels like rubies. As we walked through the streets i began to notice that we had been receiving strange looks from people as we passed. At first I thought they were offended by our appearance but later realised it was not our appearance that they were paying attention to. I followed the eyes of those who stared and realised they were staring at Fabron. A million thoughts ran around in my mind but only one stuck. He has been here. I jogged at a slow pace to catch up to my companions who had walked quite a distance ahead of me. As we continued to walk I grew distracted . I bumped into a wall . Upon realising that walls did not wear clothing I looked up to see Macgowan staring at me. I then began to mumble an apology but was interrupted as Fabron declared . "We are here".

I followed the horsemen as they entered what seemed to be a large room . When a match was lit and I could see I realised we were at an inn. We stood in what i assumed was the lobby. My suspicion was confirmed when the horsemen approached a man to ask about the fee to keep a horse in the barn. The horse men beckoned for me to follow as they walked towards the guests rooms. Eventually after multiple failed attempts at finding our room , we found the only room it could be. It was small but had a cozy feeling to it.

As night fell and sleep called i prepared to rest my tired bones.

"Tomorow we will take you to the south eatern town of Lee where you will remain with myfriend for your safety whilst we progress onwards to Laus where we shall find a way to end the tenebris once and for all." Fabron spoke.

"No. I survived the fire in Rathurn for a reason , and if you are to move forward it is only right that I go with you. Surely you cant think that my name and survival happened out of luck or occurred to be as they were coincidentally. "

"You will not. You are a girl and simply not strong enough to"

The sound of my hand hitting Fabrons face silenced the room . All eyes were on me . I felt embarrassment but my embarrassment was short lived .

"I stared into the eyes of the beast that burnt Rathurn to the ground and you claim I am not strong enough. Listen to yourself . The shake in your voice tells me that even you do not believe what you are saying."

Macgowan blew out the candle the lit up the room.

As if we read each others minds we got into bed and slept.
