Midnight
My eyes snap open.
I leap up, preparing for something, anything to hit me. But I am not prepared fro the wave of dizziness and nausea that hits me like a charging bull. I reel back, ending up on my hands and knees. I crouch there, panting, doing my everything I can not to be sick. I look around. All there is is white. No sky. No ceiling.
No FLOOR- I gag again- no ANYTHING!!! Why? What? Who- but I know who I am.
Im Midnight Charm, and I'm from earth. But any more than that and it just goes all fuzzy.
Then I see it.The body in the distance. I teleport over - WHAT? How? I don't know. I don't care. I peer over the body. I sit and wait, only me and my imagination.
Around an hour later, her eyes flutter open.Emma
The first thing I see when I wake is a pretty girl with long blonde hair leaning over me.
"Hey I'm Midnight," she says shyly. "I like your hair ."
My hair is rainbow coloured, each little strand a different shade of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo or violet. I love my hair. As a rainbow fairy I am gifted with it to show my heritage. I smile back at Midnight and reply, "My name's Emma Claire Rainbow, but everyone calls me Emma." I study Midnight a little more. She doesn't have wings, so she is definitely not a fairy like me. Perhaps a human?
"OMG," she says, "Are those wings real? They look real. But they can't be real can they?"
Definitely a human.
"They are," I tell her, "I'm a fairy." I look past her at the whiteness all around, and my face goes white. I know this place. Every fairy child is told bedtime stories about it, and later on we have nightmares about the scary, all white place that no one has ever escaped from.
"Echo," I whisper. "No, no, NO! How did we get into Echo?"Elle Cream
I see two young girls hunched over each other in the corner.
They're tilting their heads in conversation, so I decide to take a look. I can see now they're arguing.
"But this place is endless! We can't get home in a matter of years!"
I'm probably the only one that can detect fairy voices. This one's a fairy.
"No, but..."
I cant hear them anymore. They hush their voices. They know I'm here. I glide over to them silently. It's great if the world matches your dress. It gives you constant camouflage. They spin around in worry.
They're definitely much younger than me. Well, I'm probably the oldest here, being 17.
"Hello, I'm Elle. Elle Cream," I say softly.
They gawp at me like I'm some sort of special work of art.
"You... you are beautiful. No, not beautiful. Radiant," says the small, I'm now making out, rainbow fairy.
For the first compliment I've had in years, it just feels great. I swoop down and unexpectedly throw my arms around her.
"I'm... I'm Emma. Emma Claire Rainbow?" Her voice is sharp, like tangerine juice flying at you.
"It's nice to meet you, Emma," I smirk and fly high, attempting to release myself from this endless white cage...The Ancient Child
I open my eyes. Whiteness. White walls, white floor, white ceiling. I, on the other hand, am completely grey. In the distance, are three girls. All at least three or more years older than me. They spot me instantly.
"Look, it's a boy!" one gasps. They come over to me.
"Hello," one says softly. This one has rainbow coloured hair, and beautiful wings. "I'm Emma. This is Elle Cream, and this is Midnight Charm. Who are you?"
"I... Erm..." I stutter. That's a good question. Who AM I? "I don't know," I cry helplessly. "I... I remember these old men, though. They called me the Ancient Child, because I think I'm immortal...?"
"That could be possible," says one. She is extremely beautiful, but looks almost eighteen.
Everyone peers around. Nobody else is there.Midnight
"OK," I say with a determination that none of the others knew I had. "Well, we have to do SOMETHING don't we? Fairy girl, you told us you knew more about Echo. What did the fairies used to say about this place?"
