The New Girl

Violet

I jump up from my sofa. I realise that I just slept on my sofa. I never did that at home...
I sprint outside to find that everyone is already outside on the road, trying to wake Midnight up. I take charge.
"TAC, go and find Midnight's socks and bring them. Everyone else don't move."
I wave my wand and a protective bubble forms around us. TAC comes back looking slightly pale so I form a protective bubble round his head as well. He puts the sock on Midnight's face and she wakes up.

Midnight

Blackness.So, so peaceful. Smell. I like this smell. Old cheese an- What?
I spring up, and when I realise it is MY sock, I mumble a something at Violet but then leave the matter alone. My sense blur, then fine in so exactly that I can do anything better than anyone for a minute or to. "Everyone, take my hand," I whisper slowly and quietly. "no questions" They all do, and I take us round the back of my house. " Theres a girl. She is just round the corner. We need a volunteer to go round." I say in a hushed tone. I volunteer Emma, she is a kind person and will see the good intasntly in this new comer. I teleport her round then teleport back before the others could see.

Emma

I look at the new girl. She is insanely beautiful, and has a haughty manner around her. I ignore this though and give her a friendly smile. "Hi, my name is Emma. What's yours?" The girl sniffs at me. "I don't associate with riff raff. My name is Rose but I shall allow you to call me Miss Black." I instantly don't like her, but perhaps she is only acting like this because she's scared. "Have you just arrived here? This is Echo, by the way." I tell her. Rose laughs. She has a high pitched laughed, that hurts my ears because they are so sensitive. "Daaarrrrllliiiinnng, of course I know where I am. I am Rose Black, and I am the best of the best. Now, escort me to the rest of your friends. I saw one of them briefly. Come come."

Midnight

Even without my strangly acute senses any more, I still here clearly the converastion.
I save Emma by teleporting over.
"Hi! I'm Charm! Midnight Charm. But you can call me Middy if you like." I say, prentending to be as happy as I cannot be.
I see the others walking round. They inroduce them selves and say a bit about themselves, to.
The last person to talk is Elle. The one person I wholey trust in this entire world.
"And what about you, MISS Black?" Elle ends, seeming to want to provoke a argument allready. I know she doesnt like this new comer.

TAC

I hide behind Elle and Middy, my best friends in this new world. I hate upsetting people, and I am so glad Middy saved me.....

Violet

Emma and the new girl come round the corner, the new one in front. She looks familliar, but I can't... quite... remember... Sadness, pain and the unmistakable smell of lipstick and school toilets come to mind but I can't put my finger on what that has to do with her. Pushing my thoughts aside, I see that Emma's mouthing "She's reeeeally posh!" before she's blocked out by the swaying body of The New Girl.
"Hellooo, darlings." she says, extremely poshly (Emma was right- she IS reeeealy posh!). "My name is Rose Black, and I expect you riff-raff are the residents of this absolutely DREADful place? Anyway, you may call me "Miss Black" or "Ma'am".
I step forward. "Good afternoon, Miss Black. I am Violet Black-"
"Hmm, how bizzare. That name somehow rings a bell. Well, carry on."
"And I am the leader of our group. We are here from all times and kingdoms to create a new kingdom using our powers. Do you, by any chance, know what power you have?"
"Not for you to know, Violet. Carry on."
"OK, then. Anyway, as I was saying, we have to create a kingdom. If we don't succeed, we will lose our powers and die."

Middy

-"and If we don't discover what we have lost after we have created a really cool kingdom then we will die also" I say, disconern spreading al over my face as I realise what I'm saying.
Then others stare at me again.
"I-I-I think I had a dream about it" I think of as an excuse. Because it wasn't a dream. It had been a nightmare.
"OK, well now we have another problem" Says Violet, through gritted teeth, pulling me aside.
"WHAT?!" she says in a hushed vioce.
" I had a dream, and that is what it said." I say, glancing back at the huddleing group that I now call friends.
"we can't trust DREAMS!!!"
"I know, but I just have a REAAALLLYYYY good-well bad- feeling aout this one I insist.
"OK, fine" I drag here back to the group.
OK, so, royal lady highness Black" I start again with a praising nod from Elle, and a glance down a nose from 'Miss Black'" What do you think of our humble-" I turn a cough into Amazing "- little town?

Emma

"It's the most horrible place I've ever been, and I would like you to rebuild in my honour as I'm the Queen." Rose demands. Meanwhile I whisper into Middy's ear, "I think I had the same dream. We have to discover who were. I know who I am though... do you?" Middy stares miserably back. "No."

Middy

I don't know who I am. And I doubt I ever will. I will perish in this word of nothingness. And that is what I shall end up as. Nothingness.
But I choke back a laugh of indignation at "'queen'
"Um, excuse me, but Violet here is the leader, and that is how it will work. We decided as a team, and that is how it will stay. Vioket is a god leader and a fair one. And no one is calling you 'Ma'am' or 'Miss black' anytime soon. We just go by our own names, and you will to. So THERE."
I retreat back into my crowd of friends. The sudden burst of defience has left me feeling tired and empty. Ele pats me on the back and I whisper "was I to harsh?" She shakes her head.
"no, you just put her in her place. You gave her what she needed."
Rose still looks slightly taken aback.

Violet

"OK, we've got that sorted out, now let's make Rose-" I glance at Rose, who doesn't seem toooo angry "- her own house. Now, who would like to be Rose's neighbour?"

Emma

Unsurprisingly there were no volunteers. So Rose picked herself.
"I want Violet," she declares. Violet doesn't look too happy.
