Oh dear God my arms ache
And the papery stretch of tan across my bones sting
I couldn't stop and I still can't
The friends who sit around me in a circle love to hear stories about my cat who scratches me too much.Oh dear God my head aches
Stayed up till midnight jamming in the last college essay
My mother was screaming at me like a banshee on crack
And dad was not home. Again.
My brothers smoking cannabis
And my mom doesn't notice
Her daughter is covered in gruesome tally marks
and she doesn't noticeOh dear God my heart aches
A boy and a girl were making out in a car by my house
And the boy had beautiful eyes and the girl had everything I do not have
I long to love and I long to be lovedOh dear God
