Chapter 1

Bailey

I couldn't wait. This was finally happening. I was FINALLY going to get to meet my internet partner! We had been talking for a very long while even before I asked them out. And after days, maybe even weeks, of planning, its finally come time for me to meet them... IN REAL LIFE !!! I could hardly hold in my excitement.
If they really were as great as they seemed... I didn't know if I would be able to handle myself. To think I was only 13 and I was dating a highschooler! As my dad's car finally came onto their street, I just kept dreaming of what they would be like.

After the agonizing drive, we finally pulled into their driveway. "Bye, dad," I gave him a hug, trying not to sigh with happiness at the event.

"Have fun, sweetheart," he gave me a grin and closed his door.

Hoisting my bag onto my shoulder, I couldn't help but let out that sigh. Seemed kinda weird that they didn't run out to greet me, but they were probably too involved in Netflix or Tumblr to have even heard the car pull in and leave.

Overly hesitant and tentative, I slowly walk up the ramp to their house, taking in my surroundings.

Once I knock on the door, I wait a few moments, but nobody comes. I knock again, and lean into the door. I hear little pit-pats, like animal paws walking. Must be her dog or something. "It's open," I hear Maliah's voice say from inside. I turn the knob and push the door, to find a black cat standing at my feet.
"Ma-Maliah? Where are you?" I ask, peering around. I take a few steps in and see them on the couch... curled up in a ball. I cautiously walk over- I've never seen anybody in that position before. Maybe they're secretly a contortionist? I shake their shoulder. What the hell, they just told me to come in. Their head suddenly turns towards me and... they hiss, showing their sharp teeth.

"Down here," I hear their voice say, but their mouth is being used to lick their hand. I look down to see that black cat again.

"Yes, Bailey, I am a cat, and if you make any pussy jokes I will claw your eyes out."
