There once was a family. A father, a mother, a daughter, and a son. They lived on a lovely little farm, on a huge 5 acres of land. The house, barn, shed, and old run down mill all connected with a soft yellow orange dirt path. Anything not touching the unusual path was some sort of plant life. Flowers, grass, trees, crops, they had it all. Except, music. The youngest of the two children was a girl. She was only 6 and was complaining that the other kids at school had a radio at home.
After close to a year the mother gave in and bought her daughter a classy, old, dark oak radio for her birthday. As soon as the little girl opened her present she thanked her mother and ran upstairs to find a channel. As she set up the little radio she grew more and more excited. Her family didn't have anything like this and it was a new experience. Soon the radio was working and sound bounced around her little room. She clapped happily and giggled. Flipping through the channels she found one particular station that was a graceful channel with all the ball room dancing songs. Listening to the elegant music soothes the little girl as she spun and spun in her room.
She loved twirling, spinning, jumping, and bowing with each song that played. It reached about 10 P.M. When her mother walked in and told her it was time for bed. The girl pouted and begged for just one more song, her mother sighed and said yes soon closing the door behind her. When her mother left the little girl smiled, but it wasn't her usual smile that warmed the most angered adults heart, no it was a cold bone chilling smile, something unusual for the girl. As she looked down at her bare feet she began to laugh. Laugh a laugh that wasn't hers. Her shoulder rocked with hypnotizing laughter.
Soon she began to waltz humming to no music. The radio had gone dead and was just static. She waltz her little heart away.... Quiet literally. Soon a figure appeared more of an outline as her dancing partner. Then the smell of Burnt flesh filled the air. The littles girls night gown began to burn on the left side of her chest and the upper left part of her back. Soon a hole burned not only into her little white dress but it began forming on her pale skin. She kept humming unable to stop. Tears stained her cheeks as red stained her dress. Her dance partner held her close and tight not letting go forcing her to continue dancing as a hole formed so deep and such a clean cut circle that it eventually showed her heart. It beated rapidly. Exposed and bloody.
The humming stopped and the partner let go, bowed and vanished. As he vanished the girl screamed a shrill scream that cracked the glass in her room and popped her heart. A soft thud is heard as her body went down motionless and pale. The radio turned back on with lovely music. But towards the middle of the song a laugh could be heard. The same laugh the unfortunate little girl laughed.
As the mom ran in and saw her darling daughter bloody and lifeless she fell to her knees and weeped, for the girl who once danced alone.
