I needed some way to get away from him. Mikey. He was my husband who I so idiotically married right when I got out of high school. Now, a few years later at 21 years old in the apocalypse, we're still together. That's not a good thing though. It's horrible. Yes, I know what you're thinking. Why won't I just leave him? It's the apocalypse and the laws and beliefs from before don't matter anymore right? Well it's really not that simple.

Mikey is... Not the nicest guy. If he doesn't get his way, he gets angry. No. Angry is a darn understatement. He'll turn into Hulk. Anyway, I tried breaking it off with him as soon as I heard this whole apocalypse thing was happening. I figured, you're gonna die anyway so might as well break it off here.

But no. He got so mad. There was no way he was going to actually allow me to break up with him. Mikey beat me. Now you're wondering, if he wanted to you to stay than why in the world did he beat you? That my friend, I do not know! He's odd. His mind is a little off.

Aside from my pesky relationship drama, I found a small glimmer of hope. Her name is Judith. She's a little baby who just entered Alexandria along with a group. Her dad is... Terrifying but that I can get over! Another question? How is a baby going to help me?

My plan is to get as much time away from Satan (Mikey) as possible. All I need to do is offer to babysit her whenever it's needed. That way, I'll have an excuse to be away from him. You know it's bad when you start thinking changing diapers would be better than being with your husband.

So, I decided to volunteer to show them around the place and let them pick a house. After all, Aaron seemed pretty worn out. "Hi my name is Ella. And you're Rick right?" I asked. He nodded. His eyes wondered around the place. God, he was so intimidating. I think it's all in the beard.

"So we have plenty of houses to choose from. They already have needed supplies in there but if you need more things then you can just come find one of us. Personally, my favorite is this one. It's beautiful. I even lived in this neighborhood before the sickness spread and this one always stood out." I suggested. Wow, if the world was still normal, I'd probably be selling houses. I never knew I had social skills!!

"Sounds good. We'll take it. All of us are staying here together for the night." He said.

"Oh... Okay that's fine!" I said. After a while they got settled in and I told Rick about how I could babysit Judith anytime. All was well. But then I had to go home.

I walked slowly back to my house. It was obvious that Mikey was probably waiting there angrily. I entered the house and found him sleeping on the couch. Silently, I tiptoed up the stairs. Nothing ever goes as expected though. The stairs creaked really loudly causing him to wake up.

"You're home. Where the hell were you?" He asked. I took a deep breath.
"I was just showing some newcomers around the place. Look, I'm home now and that's all that matters." I said ending that useless conversation. To cool down, I went upstairs and plopped myself on the bed.

'I wonder what Rick and all of them are doing...' I thought. They were probably so happy to finally have a place that was kind of like before. Those people were like a family to each other. I missed that feeling.

I know what you're thinking, you should tell somebody about your abusive husband. That's the thing. I just can't. He threatens to kill me if I tell anyone. So, I'm pretty screwed there.
