I stared out the window, watching the sun go down. The sky looked almost purple and the stars were just beginning to show. My guess was that Mikey had gone back to sleep. It was eerily quiet in the house.

I figured I could go on a walk to clear my mind. So, I snuck out and began my peaceful night. A mom and dad were walking behind their three kids who were chasing each other.

Two women were out chatting and jogging around the pond. I felt content for once. Rick was down the street. To my surprise he looked.... Handsome. "Hey, Rick! I see you're a new man without that beard." I joked.

"I sure feel like one. Earlier, you said you'd get us more supplies if needed so I was wonderin' if you could get us some diapers?" He asked. I didn't know where Deanna kept all the baby things or if we even had that kind of stuff. But, I knew of only one other place.

"Well there's two packs of them at my house." I said. That meant having to deal with Mikey who wouldn't be very happy at me for getting out without telling him. "Would you like to come with?" I asked, trying to seem as cheerful and inviting as possible.

At least with Rick I could dodge a beating for the time being. "Sure." He said. That was a relief! As we approached my house, I grew even more nervous and uneasy. It was so bad that Rick took notice.

    "Are you okay?"
    "Yep! Totally!"

Rick eyed me a couple more seconds as I hesitated to open the door. We slowly made our way in. Mikey was wide awake and looked more than ready to chew me out. He was practically fuming.

"Hi, Sugar!" I said over-cheerfully. "Who's this?" He asked keeping his eyes on Rick.

    "Rick Grimes." He answered huskily.

"I was just getting some stuff for him that he needs. He's knew to Alexandria so would you be a doll and welcome him?" I asked. To get out of the tense situation, I marched upstairs to go grab the diapers.

I stood by the doorway and listened to what they were talking about. "You're the reason my wife has been out all day." Mikey said with annoyance. Gosh, he's an idiot.

"Yeah. She helped me and my group get settled in... So what's you're point?" Rick asked with attitude. I could tell this wasn't going to end well in the slightest bit. Why the heck was Mikey getting jealous of Rick? Looked like their first impressions weren't going too good.

Before things got any worse, I came back downstairs with the diapers. "Here you go!" I said handing it to him. I realized my luck was quickly going to run out. If Rick left right now, I'd get the beating of a lifetime right after.

I had to find a way to stall and fast. "Mikey, if you don't mind, I'm going to walk him back to his house." I said. Not wasting any time, I walked toward the front door with Rick following me.

Finally, we got out. We were both silent at first. "Is there something I should know about?" Rick asked breaking the quiet. My face turned bright red.

Oh how I wish I could tell him about the torture that went on in my house. But, Mikey would find out and it would only make matters worse. I had no choice but to keep it to myself as usual. "Nope. Everything's just fine." I lied.

The look in his eyes told me he knew something was up. I gave him a small fake smile for assurance. He still wasn't buying it. Eventually, we got to his place and we parted ways.

Now I had to face Mikey.

****You were most likely wondering why she had diapers in her house when clearly she doesn't have kids. It's because at some point in the pre-apocalypse, she probably had a little niece or nephew come over at her place. Not much to it. Hope you enjoyed!****
