Lizzy's POV

I had just awoken from a peaceful sleep by my pet shark, Sharky. I know what you're thinking, How does a shark live in the lake?  Well, I have had Sharky since he was born but I didn't want to live in the ocean anymore, so I moved here but gave Sharky the ability to breathe the lake water. You see, my mother was the Sea Queen and she had magical powers too. I don't know anything about my dad, but I'm sure he had something to do with my magic.

I sit up, yawing and stretching my arms and legs out. I pet Sharky and swim with him to the dock, hiding under there like I do every day just to see if I can here the voices again. I listen closely for any noises that humans make but sadly I hear none. I sigh, swimming down to the bottom of the lake, checking my collections of prized possessions given to me by my mother. She sends me gifts every time it's my birthday and she hasn't missed one yet. I don't really see why I need a birthday, I'm immortal. Does it even matter?

Darcy's POV

I wake up to the sounds of yelling, thinking for a second that meeting my father and getting out of the prison was all just a dream, until I notice where i am. Home. I've missed that, having a good place to call home and now I have one.

I crawl out of bed and run towards the direction that I heard the scream come from. Sounded like dad, I thought to myself. I look for him in the dinning room, not there. I search around more for him, finally finding him in his bedroom lying on the floor clutching his arm.

"Dad? Are you okay?" I ask, bending down to pick him up but he shoos me away.

"I'm fine, Darcy. Go on and get Sammy. Tell him to take you to a store for clothes or something, I need to do a few things alone." He said, groaning as he gets up and sits on the bed still gripping his arm. I do as he says and tells Sam everything that he told me.

~Time skip after shopping (i hate shopping)~

Once we arrive home I unpack all my new clothes, putting a new outfit on for once, and putting them away in the places i want them to be in. I smile widely, lightly crying tears of joy, being thankful for everything that has happened to me recently. The new clothes. A home. A family. My family. I quickly run down stairs to see Sam sitting at the table in the dinning room. I run up to him and hug him tightly.

"Thank you for everything." I say, not letting go of him even as he stands up to hug me back.

"You're welcome, Darcy. I hope you like it here." He says, hugging me back but letting go to get back to his work.

"I'd love any place that's better than that old, freezing cell." I reply, scrunching up my nose in disgust as I think about that place.

Sam chuckles, "Yeah, I would too." He says, noting me that he's now ready to get back to work and concentrate. I walk away, know he needs his space. I begin to get the feeling as if I'm being watched and it's very unsettling. I turn my head to look behind me, to my left, and my right, looking for any signs of anyone but not getting any results.

I look down at my new and first phone. Sam bought it for me while we were shopping and I couldn't be any more thankful. The clock on it reads 12:57. Wow..time flies when you're actually enjoying life, eh? I say in my mind, walking to my room to go to sleep feeling a bit tired.

I lay down and get comfortable, falling asleep instantly.

No dreams.

No nightmares.

Just peace. What I've been looking for and I've found it. Let's just hope no one else or nothing else finds my peace.
