Lucas' POV

He was beyond bored. For some reason because he was King everyone thought he needed to be bored to death all the time. He was currently sitting in Blake's meeting room listening to him drone on about all the goings on in his pack. He didn't need nor want such minuscule details like a member moved into the pack house or moved out. He was only here to make sure the Alpha was taking care of his pack properly.

Lucas looked at the time and groaned inwardly. He had been sitting there for over two hours. He need to take a break, get some fresh air. After the plane trip then the car ride and now this stuffy room, he hadn't been outside nearly enough to relax his wolf.

"I'll be back in a few minutes. I need some fresh air." Lucas mentioned to Blake. He stood up and headed for the door.

"You can't leave now." Blake said. Lucas whipped around to face Blake before he let a growl escape his lips.

"Are you ordering me around?" Lucas snarled at Blake.

"No-o your h-highness. I meant we hav-ven't finished with the-the meeting." Blake stuttered with his head down showing submission.

"I am not here to be ordered around by you. I am here to inspect your pack and determine if you are still a good enough fit to be Alpha. I will come and go when I see fit. Do I make myself clear?" Lucas snarled in a deadly voice. Blake was now on his knees, head bowed cowering in front of Lucas.

"Yes your majesty." Blake's voice was so low Lucas could barely hear him. Instead of responding he simply turned around and ignored the man on the ground. He made his way out of the meeting room and towards the entrance of the house. The moment he stepped outside he itched to take off the suit and run as a wolf in the woods. Unfortunately there were other things he needed to do today.

Unable to shift but still feeling the need to get closer to nature Lucas walked around the house and headed toward the forest behind the backyard. There were a few kids playing in the backyard with their mothers gossiping in the corner. No one noticed him and for that he was grateful. He continued walking once he was fully in the forest. The sights and smells surrounded him, providing comfort.

Lost in his surrounding he mindlessly explored the forest. It felt good to stretch his legs. A squirrel ran by and he followed it with his eyes, tracing its path on the forest floor before scampering up a tree to his left. All of a sudden a rabbit went racing past followed by a dark grey wolf. The rabbit made a sharp turn then started a zig-zag course trying to loose the predator. The wolf followed the rabbits exact moves, zig-zagging through the forest. The rabbit made a quick about face and started heading towards Lucas. The wolf did the exact same but slightly quicker. The wolf pounced towards the rabbit, stretching out its paw and throwing up a cloud of dirt and leaves.

Once the dust cleared the wolf slowly opened its paws but there was no rabbit. The wolf stood up and looked around the forest floor before sticking its head between its legs to see if the rabbit had escaped that way. He could now tell this wolf was an adult female chasing the rabbit. The site of the full grown she-wolf with her head between its legs looking for a rabbit made Lucas laugh. It was the silliest thing he'd ever seen a wolf do. Let alone a full grown adult wolf.

At the sound of his laugh the she-wolf quickly brought its head up and looked directly at him.

"Having fun?" Lucas asked with a smile still on his face. He could tell the wolf knew who he was and she became instantly nervous. She looked towards him then towards the forest and back towards him. He could tell she was trying to decide if she should run or come closer. His smile slowly faded knowing what option she would choose. They always ran.

Suddenly the wolf stood up straight and started walking right towards him. He was slightly shocked. She's probably single and hoping to flirt, he thought with a scowl. He guessed she would walk straight up to him then shift so she was standing naked and very close. He hated all the antics women did around him.

As the wolf came closer he noticed she was rather thin and had black tipped ears and a black tipped tail. When she was finally close enough he waited for her to shift, but instead she plopped her butt on the ground and opened her mouth. She let her tongue roll out the side of her mouth which gave him the impression of a very goofy wolf grin. Her unexpected behavior had him laugh once again. He appreciated her unusual behavior. Most people acted scarred or cautious around him. She was joking with him.

She poked her nose at his hand before rolling onto her back exposing her belly. At first he thought it was a sign of submission until she began squirming and whining on the ground. She looked up at him again with her tongue out and mouth open. She nodded her head at his hand before squirming again. Did she want me to scratch her belly? He knelt down and began scratching her belly. She started panting and nodding her head at him. This woman was unlike anyone else he had ever met.

"Your highness?!" Someone yelled at the edge of the forest. The she-wolf quickly stood up before licking his face and prancing away. He realized she had made him do her bidding without saying a word. That had never happened before. He never took orders from anyone, yet he did as she commanded without a second thought. He smiled at the thought of the unusual she-wolf.

He stood up and headed back to the pack house. Blake's Beta was the one searching for him. The coward sent his second to look for me, he thought. The two of them went back into the meeting room where Blake was waiting for them.

"I thought maybe now would be a good time to take you in town to see our business and the school." Blake spoke to the floor instead at Lucas. Lucas was getting really annoyed with this Alpha.
