Rose Summers
“Franki I swear to God, if that kangaroo kid behind me kicks me one more time-“ Francesca looked at me with wide eyes, cowering back into the crappy faded blue airplane seat as the small boy behind us kicked mine for the upteenth time this flight. My bright blue eyes narrowed to what I’m sure looked like dangerous slits of a predator. I took a deep breath and gave a sly wink to Franki as I slowly turned around in my chair looking at the boy and his exhausted, sleeping mother. I almost changed my mind about what I was about to do…nah.
“Hi there, I’m Rose Summers. What’s your name?” I asked with a fake, sugar sweet smile. Franki audibly gulped and shook her head at me dramatically motioning with a finger across her neck.
“I’m Ben. And you sound like a Power Puff girl,” the boy snapped, crossing his arms. I clenched my hands. Little brat. I have always hated those shit dolls. I don’t even look like any of those dolls. I cleared my throat and drag myself away from my thoughts. As I struggle to keep my temper in check on this tiny plane I decide to amp up my plan.
"Well Ben, I have a secret for you! I can only tell you if you promise to keep it between us. Okay?” I ask him, faking excitement and friendship with him.
The little booger’s eyes brightened at the tempting propostition. He looks left and then right and then left once more before he nodded exuberently and leaned closer to me in expectancy and eagerness.
“Santa. Isn’t. Real," I whispered, my face void of any and all emotion. I watch as his small face pinches into one of horror and betrayal as I quickly turned around with a smirk trying to get comfortable in my now kicking free seat. Franki growled and smacked my upper arm with the back of hers.
“Ouch! What the hell?” I demanded, rubbing my now very sore arm. Geez, for a bubble gum princess she packs a punch. A look of guilt flashes across her face but she shakes her head slighty and her glowering disapproval returns.
“You basically just took away 75% of that little boy’s childhood. What is wrong with you?” She demanded. I could practically imagine steam coming out of her ears and looping over the top of her wavy, pink hair.
“Well, if you really must know, I have this incurable disease that effects my beautiful eyes and am currently on my way to Tokyo, Japan as we speak. But between you and me, I secretly am faking it just to be able to shop in Japan. I hear they have the most amazing kimonos made of genuine silk!” I shot back at her in my falsetto. She frowned at me and my sarcasm before shoving her headphones back into her ears and blasting her music. I shook my head and relaxed in what was now supposed to be a peaceful flight. Only 43 minutes and 28 seconds to go….27…26…25…24…

“ROSE!” Franki yelled in my ear while yanking on my braided hair.
“The plane better be fricking falling out of the sky," I grumbled out in a husky voice.
“Better! We landed!” she exclaimed, her words laced with sarcasm. I’d taught her well.
“Wonderful. Let’s go.” I jumped out of my seat, and a little too quickly, it seemed. As I stood patiently, waiting for the dancing black dots to fade from my vision, Franki grabbed our carry-ons and took my hand. As we made our way to baggage claim, which took no time at all due to our fluency in Japanese, we found our bags and slunk over to the limo which had been preordered and ready for hours, no doubt. As we entered our limo, the driver explained to us where we are going.
“Ouran Acadmey?” Franki asked me. I shrugged wearily and glanced at the pamphlet that was given to us.
"It looks like a bunch of rich snots," I spat out through my teeth. I ran a hand shakily through my black hair and sighed with exasperation.
“They had a music program. Had? How do they not have one anymore? That's blaspemy!” Franki screeched out. I watched as she tried to continue her rampage, but her voice wouldn’t allow it. Her vocal chords had paralyzed again. I looked around the limo quickly, searching frantically for something that might help. Champagne? Negatory. Wine? Nope. I snapped open a side cooler with a silent prayer and low and behold, a full bottle of water sat peacefully. Hopefully Brent had to pay for this! I handed her one carefully. She took it while scooting closer to me with gratitude. I linked arms with her in a sign of comforting while she rested her head on my shoulder.
"Why would Brent send us to a school without a music or design program?” I whispered dejectedly. Franki shook her head miserably and continued to take sips of her water.
“Only a few more minutes ladies. If you look out to the right, you will see the school grounds coming up shortly!” the driver stated in a cheery matter-of-fact way. We both shifted our position facing the far right windows as hedges upon hedges of green began to show up. As we pulled up to a huge iron gate stamped with the school emblem, Franki and I exchanged looks. The trees were all pruned and trimmed into shapes. Were those bunnies? As the car pulled up to the main building, we saw the many faces of Ouran Academy peers and teachers. My suspicions were confirmed. Rich fricking snots. Everywhere.
Brent, what the hell have you done now?
