Niall leans closer to me. The door creaks open and standing before is is a young man. He is tall and muscular, and actually, quite handsome. He looks irritated.
"You two. What's your adresses?"
"Don't tell him. He'll get our families too." Niall whispers to me.
"Tell me. Now." He sounded mad and I felt obligated to answer. Niall reluctantly followed suit. "Good. Now, you two are going to to what I say when I say it. Got it?"
"Yes." I say, backing into Niall. The harshness of this guy has made me back up so far I'm practically on Nialls's lap. Apparently noticing this, the guy oddly softens his time.
"I don't want to hurt you. I just want the ransom money. It's actually more of my friends operation, I'm just the help."
"You've got a terrible friend." Niall says.
"I didn't ask for you opinion. He's a great guy who choses terribly mouthy captives. From now on you will address me as Mr. Liam." and with that he turns and walks out the door. I hear his footsteps receed into the distance.
"We're never getting out of here." I say. I don't know how much ransom money usually is, but its surely more than my parents can handle.
"Don't say that. We're going to get out. We just will have to search for a way."
For some reason this really sets me off. "Didn't you hear that lock? That door has like, fifty locks on it. And that window has bars on it. We aren't getting out."
"You're not staying very positive."
"How can I? In case you haven't noticed, we are in a jail cell."
"I have noticed."
"Then why don't you act like it? We can't escape, my parents Wong be able to afford the ransom-"
"Yeah? Well at least your parents will try to pay your way out! Mine don't care!"
"What do you even mean? You look like a snobby rich kid."
"Well rich doesn't mean your parents love you." he replies and turns his back to me. Oh that's a classic rich kid story for you. Oh mom and dad don't love me. They get me everything but they don't care.
But deep inside I want to believe him, just because of the look on his face when he said it.
"Niall..."
"Just leave me alone."
Well. Two can play at that game then. I turn my back to his and don't say anything. What he doesn't know is I've had a lot of experience in the ignoring game.
