Part 1:
" Time for dinner boys." Said Mrs. Smith as she sets down forks for every one.
"Coming mom, c'mon Mason it's time to eat." I said to my best friend.
We sat down and began to eat our dinner.
" So Johnny, are you gonna do it?" Mason said immediately as we sat down.
"Do what?" I said in confusion.
"You know, the page quest." Said Mason in a whisper.
"What's that?" I said.
"You don't know what the page quest is? Well, guess ill have to tell you. Mason said in an eager voice.
"Legend has it, if you go in the woods in the north side of town there's eight pages spread out in the forest. People have tried looking for it, but when they went in, they never came out." said Mason in a worried voice.
"No way, that's just a myth." I said
"No man it's not, it's true. If your so sure it's fake why don't YOU go in the forest?!" Mason suggested as he stood up out of his chair.
"You know what? I will, and ill come out perfectly fine!" I said as my voice got louder.
"Boys, boys come down, just eat your dinner ok?" My mom said quietly.
"Yes mom." I replied.
"Yes Mrs. Smith." Mason replied.
"Ok tomorrow night then." Mason announced with his mouth full.
"Ok, tomorrow night it is." I said.
Mason and I headed up to my room where we both sit on the on the bed and start talking.
"So why do you think people never come back?" I said.
"That's the thing, nobody knows!" Mason replied.
"Ok, we'll theirs got to be a logical reason right? Maybe they got lost." I claimed in desperation to get a logical answer.
"It's not that big of a forest Johnny, it's almost impossible to get lost in there." Mason argued. Mason will do almost anything to prove me wrong and when he does he holds it over me for weeks.
"Well what do you think happend?" I asked.
"Well, I have one theory. Wh- what if some one or some thing took them." Mason whispered.
"That's crazy, theirs probably some bear in that forest man. Maybe it just mauled them or something." I replied.
"Yeah every one thought that too, so one guy took a shot gun, and some gear. and sure enough, he never came out." Said Mason while picking up stuff in my room then putting it some where else.
"Weird." I admitted with a worried voice.
"Yeah, weird is right. Maybe you shouldn't go in there." Mason replied with a sarcastic voice still putting things out of place.
"Would you stop that already?" I said aggressively
"Sorry. Bad habit." Mason apologized
"Also no. I have to go in there to prove that nothing's in that forest." I Said bravely.
Mason and I talked a bit more, and eventually he went home, and
to be honest I was kinda scared to go in that forest but I knew I had to do it.
If I didn't I would never hear the end of it. Masons a good guy and all, but when he wins an argument he just acts like an jerk for weeks.
I knew if I were to go in that forest I would have to come prepared, so I packed a back pack with food, water, and a tent in case I get lost. I also took a flash light, but not a good one. It was one of those cheap ones you would get at the Dollar Tree, but it would have to do.
