"Alright that's the last one." The manager said to Antoinette. "Thank you very much for hiring me! I promise to do my best!"
Antoinette had just been hired as a counselor for Charleston Insane Asylum. It had always been her dream to help people there. It was her first day on the job and the manager had spent the day showing her around and introducing her to the patients. She was speaking with the manager as she heard a call on the intercom. "We have a basement level emergency. Mr. Charleston please head to the basement I repeat-" Basement? Mr. Charleston never mentioned a basement... she looked to her manager who had slammed his coffee cup down and started heading towards a room he had claimed was a closet. She followed him to the door to find stairs leading downward underground. And silently followed her manager down the stairs. Once they reached the bottom she looked ahead to see a dark corridor. Some closet. she thought. At the end of the corridor was a heavy steel door covered in locks. Antoinette gulped. "What in the world happened down here?!" Mr. Charleston demanded. The guard's in front of the door sighed. "Tommy went in to feed him." One of the guard's finally answered. "Yeah? So? He's supposed to do that every day." "Well...He hasn't in a week.." "WHAT?" Mr. Charleston roared. "Uh, he went in last week and Namikawa tried to bite him. So he said he had lost his dinner because of that." Mr. Charleston ran his fingers through his hair. "Okay, okay. So what's wrong?" They gulped again and showed camera footage of Tommy being attacked and killed by the patient. "Is Namikawa restrained?" Mr. Charleston asked. "As of this moment, yes." "Okay good, open up." He demanded. Nervously the guard's started to unlock the big heavy door. Mr. Charleston turned to see Antoinette standing behind him. She giggled nervously but Mr. Charleston just sighed. "Come see our most dangerous patient Ms. Jones." "Yes, sir!" She replied following him into the large room to find a man in a straitjacket tied to the wall. "Please keep in mind that you can never take the straitjacket off ms. Jones." He proceeded in the room to find the corpse of Tommy. The patient was covered in blood and growling. "Oh, shush it you monster." He snarled at that remark. "He doesn't respond to anyone Ms. Jones, please keep that in mind." She nodded and stared a him while Mr. Charleston dragged Tommy's body out of the room. While the weren't paying attention Antoinette hid under the small bed in the room. Soon after the exited the room and locked the door. Surely they'll notice I'm missing later. She thought. She climbed out from under the bed and dusted herself. Turning to the patient she brushed her hair back and smiled. "Hiya! My name is Antoinette Jones." She stared at her fiercely and growled. She jumped back but noticed how he didn't look angry, but scared. "Hey, now... no need to be scared! I'm not gonna hurt ya!" He turned away. Antoinette took that as her chance to get close. "That doesn't look very comfy." She commented. He struggled to get out the coat. "Here let me just-" she unhooked the wires chaining him to the wall. "I don't think I trust you enough to undo the jacket just yet if that's okay." He just stared off. "This is a pretty boring room, isn't?" He finally looked at Antoinette. She smiled. "Are you just pretending you don't respond?" He turned and sat in a corner and started smacking his head against the wall. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I'm gonna stop this nonsense!" She pulled him back a bit. "No hurting yourself, Kay?" She brushed his hair out of his face to reveal large bruises on his forehead. "Aww, you poor thing!" She leaned in and kissed his forehead. He stared at her in awe. "I know what we can do! Want me to read you a story? I brought a few books with me!" She ran back to the bed and pulled her bag out from underneath. She pulled out three books. "Which would you prefer? 'Alice's adventures in wonderland', 'Coraline', or something simple such as a dr. Seuss book?" She said laying the three books on The floor. He examined the books and finally picked the dr. Seuss book. She smiled as she picked it up. "Here we go then!" She sat down next to him and began to read to him. He looked over as she had finished the book to see him totally engrossed with the story. She was happy she found something he liked. "Want to do another? These are a bit harder though..." he started violently nodded 'yes' at her proposal. She laughed as she picked up another book. Just as she was about to start reading the door flew open and a bunch of armed guards entered the room. "There you are ms. Jones." Mr. Charleston said frowning. "Now why would you do such a thing?" The patient looked at Antoinette to see her shaking. "I-I-I just wanted to help-" "Help him? There is no helping him. He attacks anyone who even TRIES to help him." The guard's started closing in to grab Antoinette when the patient started attacking the guard's. They started shooting like crazy and stray bullets went flying one hit Mr. Charleston in the leg while another hit Antoinette's hand. She screamed in pain. The scream caused Namikawa to panic as he jumped in front of her to protect her. They aimed their guns. Before they could pull the trigger they heard Mr. Charleston shout. "STOP!" they paused and saw him limping. One immediately started to phone an ambulance. "Do you men even SEE this?" They turned to him questionably. "Look! He's protecting her! In just a few hours she got him to do that for her. They turned back to the two against the wall to see Namikawa desperately trying to lick the blood off Antoinette's hand. "Boss, it looks like he's tasting her to me." Namikawa glared at the guard. "What do we do? We have to give her medical attention!" Antoinette put her hand on his face. "Hey..." she whispered. "They need to take me back upstairs to treat my hand, okay?" He started to whimper. "Hey, hey. It's alright. If you be a good boy from now on they might let me come down again. And next time I can bring more books and games. He nodded and a tear slid down his cheek. "That's my boy." She kissed his forehead once again then the guard's picked her up to carry her up the stairs. He stared longingly at the door until the day she would come back again.
