Prologue

"Will you marry me?" The smell of freshly brewed coffee pervaded the air and, thoughts of the chocolate muffin were forgotten as the question echoed through the shop drawing the attention of the early morning coffee addicts. The handsome man kneeling before, me with a hopeful expression seemed to add to the bizarre morning I was having.

"Yea sure I'll marry you, random man whose name I do not even know." I replied in a tone laden with sarcasm.

"Seriously?" He question, his eyes brightening .

"No of course not. Now take your hidden camera man and get out my Vanilla Late, craving way." With that I stormed passed him, leaving a baffled boy kneeling on the ground with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.

"Wait! Miss, please at least hear me out." I eyed the hand he had wrapped around my wrist in an attempt to draw me back and, he quickly removed it.

"You have ten seconds starting... Now."

"I made a deal with God that I would marry the next person to walk into the coffee shop." He said in one, quick breath.

"Really? Did you guys draw up a contract or something?!" I said with fake enthusiasm. "Oh and what did God have to say about how the girl would feel in all this? And, what would you have done if a boy had walked in?"

"Well, it was not a deal, deal. It was more of a 'God, please let the next person who walks in be my soul mate' because it is about time I settled down... God is too awesome to let have let a guy walk in," he said as a goofy grin spread across his face. "So, what do you say? Will you marry me?"

"All I can say is I just missed breakfast and I'm late for school so, if you do not mind..." I side stepped him and headed for the door.

"Fine! But, I will find a way to make you mine! You will be mine!" I sent him a sceptical look over my shoulder. "Okay wait! That sounded way too stalker for my liking. All I am asking for is a chance." Ignoring him I made my way out the door and to school, shoving thoughts of the strange boy to the back of my mind.
