Home. After an monotonous day of school, pulling into my driveway was pure bliss. The two foreign cars signaling we had company was not. Deciding it would be best for my sanity I decided to skip the introductions and instead head straight to my room... Via the balcony of course. The only problem with these brilliant plans was that, in order to get to my balcony I had to pass the sliding doors that led from the lounge to the garden.
Peeking my head around the corner, I made sure the voile curtains were sealed before I broke off into a full sprint for the ivy ladder that would lead to sweet freedom. Halfway to the top a throat cleared behind me startling me to such an extent I let go and plummeted back to earth. With luck on my side, my jean managed to hook itself onto a chipped wooden step that was connected to the ivy. The end result: I was hanging upside down staring into the eyes of my strange boy. The moment he decided to snap out of his shocked trance was the moment my top decided to hitch back and completely fall forward, leaving me semi-naked in front of mister 'I propose in coffee shops.'
"Stop staring and help me up already will you!" I shouted at him. Snapping out of his day-dreaming, he placed his arms around my thighs and neck and lifted me bridal style off the fence. Placing me gently on my feet he grabbed my hand and began to tug me toward the house.
"Come on. You have company and, they do not like to be kept waiting," he said in a wry tone.
"Wait who is 'they'?" I questioned, my voice dripping with annoyance.
"My parents silly!" With that I was shoved into a room filled with old people in party dresses.
