CHAPTER 1: FUN & GAMES

I stare out the window and watch as the rain falls to the ground. I've never seen rain before which is probably why it interests me. I love the rain, especially on days like this. Days when i'm reminded of what i am. Days when i experience what most humans call loneliness. At times like this the sound of thunder is strangely comforting. I was in the middle of admiring this strange phenomenon known as rain when i hear a knock on me door. " Come in." i shout while turning toward the door.

" Don't tell me you're watching the rain again. Have you even started getting ready? We leave in an hour." Luke groaned. Luke is a human whose mother took me in when she found me passed out on the streets. Luke was four when we first met and we've been together ever since. Even then i looked the same as i do now and sometimes Luke would ask me why. I'd always answer its a secret and walk away. Luke was like a brother to me. An annoying, overbearing brother but a brother none the less. He has curly brown hair, caramel skin and chocolate brown eyes. Despite all the food he eats Luke has a lean body and is pretty tall.

I on the other hand have pale blonde hair that reaches just past my waist, my eyes are emerald green with flecks of grey. I have ivory skin and delicate features. My body is slender with curves any girl would kill for or at least thats what Luke told me. Personally i never really cared much about appearance or what people thought of me. My attitude was pretty much indifferent towards everything and everyone besides Luke. Although Luke was much younger than me we looked the same age which was about 16 or 17.

I have been living with Luke for as long as i can remember and he's never been as excited as he is now. For Luke in an hour we would be going to a new school called S.T.A.R Academy. I didn't see what the big deal was but i guess thats because i've been through high school at least 50 times already. Luke however has never attended high school before in his life.

Some of you might still be wondering what i am but the truth is even i don't know the answer to that question. All i do know is i have the power to tell whether a person is an angel, a demon , a fallen angel or a human. I can see their wings though they always appear transparent but i can still see them. Angel have white wings, demons have black wings, fallen angel have grey wings and humans have no wings. Weird power right?

" Luke i've already got everything ready so can you please relax? Besides even if i wasn't ready we still got a hour before the bus comes." I sighed. Luke obviously not listening walked into my room and jumped on my bed. " Luke get out of my room or else." I said annoyed.

" Or else what?" Luke teased

" Or else i'm going to tell everybody what Olivia said to you when you asked her out last week." I said smugly as i watched Luke's face turn pale. Last week Luke asked Olivia, a girl he'd had a crush on for two years out on a date. He had waiting for her in the parking lot behind the coffee shop adn when he finally got up the nerve to ask her she answered " Wait, i thought you were gay." I couldn't forget the look on his face as he told me, it was priceless.

" You wouldn't." Luke whispered

" Oh i would." I said as i pulled out my cell phone

" You're evil, you know that?" Luke said before leaving my room. I looked over at my phone and sighed. Only 30 minutes left. I walked to the closet and grabbed my bookbag. I had everything ready and all that was left was for me to change. Dropping my bookbag on the bed i headed toward the shower. After a hot shower i changed into my clothes. I decided to wear my black skinnies, my black Breaking Benjamin tee and my black boots. What can i say i like black. I looked in the mirror and thought my outfit was good enough.I had put on eyeliner which made my eyes pop out and my hair was pinned up in a bun. Checking my phone i almost cursed. I only had one minute left until the bus came. grabbingmy bookbag i ran into Luke's room.
