The small boat rocked against the waves of the sea, Many people and children in life jackets filled the boat. I was probably the only 17 year-old there it seemed.

After a while all of us started to get hungry, We did pack food but not enough for all of us. We had to wait until we found somewhere save from the Timbers. I stood up in the boat to look around, I couldn't see anything until I looked to left and saw an island.

The island was a jungle with a fortress built on top, Brown flags with a symbol that was a circle with a sword in the middle. I knew that symbol just by looking at it correctly. The Raiders.

"Everybody! Steer the boat West! It's The Raiders!" I yelled to everyone on board. Immediately all the mother and fathers with children placed them down and began to steer the boat towards to island, I guided them until we came to the island.

The place was running with people dressed in brown leather or cloth. When they were only about half a mile away from the island, A few of the people yelled out.

"Refugees! Get the leader and the deputy quick!" One man said looking to another woman. I then helped with the steering, We went faster and faster until we got to the shore of the island.

Many men and women helped us out of the boat, The families were taken to a large building where they would care for themselves and their children. The rest of us had to stay there until the "leader" and "deputy" came. Then, Two people came walking up, One was pretty short with long black hair, Brown leather pants and a black shirt with a brown jacket. The other had long brown hair with blonde tips, and olive colored skin. She wore leather leggings and a leather shirt. She was staring at me weirdly, It kind of creeped me out and I looked down.

"Welcome to the Raiders camp, Refugees of the Timbers! I assume you all were either slaves, workers, or prisoners. You will not be those things here. All children under the age of 13 will stay with their parents in the care building. Everyone else, Will train to become the best. Each and every one of you has a skill that will play a great part in our survival. I am Arana, Your leader, and this is Rosy, Your deputy. Rosy, Start everyone on the climbing training. You!" She looked at me and I didn't know what to do. I stood there and nodded. "Come with me." I silently followed.

"What is your name?" Arana asked me.

"I-Im Mezerel... Mez for short." I told her.

"Ah. Mezeral, I see something in you I have never seen in anyone else who comes here. What was your role as a Timber?"

"Well... I was the Scavenger.. The rulers made me find things when they were lost, and I had to care for myself other than the other slaves, prinsoners, and workers." I sighed and looked at her.

"Ah. I see. Now, I am going to personally train you. First, Do you know about the other 2 teams?" Arana asked me smiling.

"Uh- No I Don't actually."

She chuckled . "First, Theres the Oceanears. They live in the Hawaiian islands, Since the islands broke up due to volcanic activity. They had to build their bases and houses over the water. They are the best fishermen, swimmers, and boaters. Then, The Hunters. They live in the forests of Canada, Which they renamed "Heren". Heren is a large dense forests with all types of trees. They surviva on killing animals, their medicine is herbs and they live in caves, treehouses, and small huts. You know the Timbers, The rich. They live in a large city with unlimited food and drink. They're powerful enough to keep slaves and workers. Then, There is us, The Raiders. We are stronger than the others and survive with physical and mental knowledge. We are the only ones who take refugees, The Oceanears do, But only 10 each year." She explained as we walked up to a small house.

"Wow.... That's a lot... So... Why are we here?" I asked skidding to a stop.

"This is the headquarters. Or as we call it, The top chart. This is where me, Rosy, and the other powerful people sleep, eat, and have meetings." She answered opening the main door.

"Why are you taking me here?" I asked following her.

"You see, Every 10 years one special person will come to this island. Every 10 years there is a war between each team. Every 10 years, that person does something to prevent the war, or let a team of their choice win. 10 years ago, The last person betray us. Siding with the Timbers to defeat us! They still live today, As the leader of the Timbers."

"Wait Wait Wait... You mean.... Laurence, Leader of the worst team there could be... Used a special raider person?" I asked as she walked me into a room.

The room we walked into was large, The walls were brown and the furniture a darker shade of brown. There was a desk on the North side, above the chair was a brown flag that said, "Raiders Will Rule Tomorrow" I stared for a few moments when Arana told me to have a seat. I sat down in one of the two chairs in front of her desk. Her desk was filled with papers of all sorts, ripped, straight, crumpled. I looked at Arana with an eyebrow raised but she ignored me pushing everything to the side so I won't see what was written on it. I stayed quiet.

"Alright. So.. The way I can figure out if your special, Is your skills. The "Special" one had the power to, Climb with speed, Fight with grace, Mine with presitance, and gather with mercy. First, Climb with speed. They must be able to climb faster than anyone else. Second, Fight with grace. Perfect dodging, and defense, They fight like they're dancing. Next, Mine with presistance. This means mining in the perfect place at the perfect time. Finally, Gather with mercy. This means you spare innocent animals such as the foals, cubs, pups, or anything like that. You leave rare plants to spread, and only deadly fish will be caught." She explained.

I sighed, Thinking this through. Really? Im the "special" one? What?I can barely throw a stick.

I sighed and sat back in the chair. "So.... Am I supposed to be this "special" one...?"

"Yes and No. We need to test your skills. We start tomorrow. I shall show you to your living quarters." She stood and and gestured em to follow her. I followed right behind.

On our way, We walked past tall and thick wooden poles that lead up to bridges and platforms hidden with brown flags. I knew it must have been some kind of lookout. We kept walking until we got to a line of small but usable cabins. Each one had a number and a name.

"What is your full name?" She asked, and stopped in front of a jungle wood cabin.

"Uh... Mezerel Hatterey...." I answered. Arana smiled and took a knife out of her pocket. I backed up a little bit not sure of what she was doing. She took the wooden plate off the top of the door, and carved in "Mezeral Hetterey" She was pretty quick but it still took about 5 minutes. She hung it back up and smiled again.

"This is your living space. We do have servents, But they are traitors, or they decided to be one from fate. They will bring breakfast, lunch, and dinner to your quarters at 7:00 Am, 12:00 Am, and 6:00 Pm. You get an hour and a half for a break to do whatever you choose. Now, Rest up. Meet me over at that mountain at 9:00 Am sharp." She pointed to a large tall mountain then walked off. I opened the door and inside was a small, but perfect sized bed, a desk, A fridge and microwave. There was a rug on the floor and of course, another flag just like the ones hung all around the place. I sighed and collapsed onto my bed, It was good to lay down, Being stuck on a boat for 3 days with barely any food or sleep made it hard. I closed my eyes and immediately fell into a deep sleep.
