Chapter 2

Harley's POV

"Hey Bobby, can I see you?" I said through clenched teeth, digging my nails into his arm and dragging him into the break room I slamming the door behind me and yelled, “What that hell?! Why would you tell him?!"

"Harley you know we need the money. And with all those street races we might as well open the shop for cars as well." Bobby said trying to reason with me, but it was too late. I was seeing red.

"I don't care! You of all people should know how much I hate cars and people who have to do with them!"

"Harley for God's sake! You have to get over it! They are-"

"Don't. Don't you dare say it." I said with loathing in my voice.

"I'm sorry; I shouldn't have brought it up." His voice softening.

"Yea you shouldn't have." I snapped at him giving him a hard glare.

"Look we need the money. The whole gang doesn't want to lose this place. It's like a second home; the guys will be just heartbroken if we lose the place." He sighed

"Yea I know..."

"Then give the poor guy a chance. He seems like a good kid. Plus I think he has a thing for you" Bobby said winking at me.

"Ha yea right." I said slapping him playfully.

"Now go get him, it’s time for the interview."

"Fine." I grumbled.

As I walked through the door I saw Ryan looking at the pictures at our wall. He was looking especially interested in the one of me.

"Hey!" I growled making him turn around from the picture." Come in here. You got the interview."

A wide grin spread over his face. Whoa what is that feeling? It felt weird and warm and and... I don't like it.

"And don't smile like that!" I yelled, mad that he made me feel weird. I turning around and stomped back into the room.

I sat next to Bobby on the multi-colored striped couch. Bobby pointed at the metal folding chair that was across the mug ring stained coffee table.

"So how much experience do you have in gangs?" Bobby said getting straight to the point.

Looking flabbergasted Ryan replied, “I thought this was a mechanic thing not...illegal stuff." I smirked. O lil' rich boy doesn't want to get his hands dirty. Ha even if he gets the job he will be boiled, eaten and spit out in a week.

"Oh well, you see we obviously don't work in the safest neighborhood so that means we have to do business with not the safest people around. There have been a lot of illegal car races around so we need to get a car mechanic. Before it was just motorcycles. There will be lots of illegal things and gang members hanging around and the police come snooping around a lot. We just need to make sure you can handle yourself." Bobby explained.

A hard look crossed over Ryan's face as he said," Yeah I got plenty experience." making me think; What does he mean by experience? Has he run in with a gang recently? Has he ever been in one?

Thoughts like these raced thru my head. I began to re look him over. Old red Converse chucks, dark blue, straight jeans, and a loose button up shirt. He had broad shoulders and muscular arms with hands that look like they weren't new to work. Ryan had a strong jaw line that had the slightest bit of stubbly, kissable... I mean he had lips you know like most humans, his eyes were a dark warm brown that made me feel warm all over, his nose had a slight crook like it had been broken before, before I assumed a bar fight was the cause of it but now I am rethinking the reason. He had short brown hair spiked up and a small scar running down from his ear to the top of his hair line. God he was sexy and hot and adorable and so much more. Not that his looks were going to get him anywhere.

Apparently while I was checking him out Bobby continued with the interview and the last thing I heard before going seeing red was, “Okay you got the job."

"What?!" I yelled in disbelief.

“He got the job not that complicated.”

"Very complicated! You didn't even interview him!"

"Uh yes Harley I did but you were too busy drooling over the poor boy to notice." Bobby then turned to Ryan and said, “You said that you work from 4:00 - 7:00 on weekdays and from 9:00 - 7:00 right?" Ryan nodded. "Haha hey look at that, you work the same time as Harley. Do you go to school or something?"

Rubbing his neck Ryan looked awkwardly around, “Uh yeah something like that." I narrowed my eyes. Ryan had too many secrets. Not that he can't, around here everyone has something to hide. Then all of a sudden, I realized what Bobby said.

"What?" I hissed, trying not to screaming.

"Harley you sure have asked me that a lot today. Did you clean your ears this morning?" Bobby asked me sarcastically.

"Bobby you know that I hate cars. Oooh I know what, why don't I not go to school so I can be here longer and I won't have to work with... him," I sneered,”so much and I can go back to homeschooling."

"No. Don't worry Harley you start in a few days, it won't be that bad." Even if I was the boss of the place Bobby was still my legal guardian and I had to listen to him.

"Fine." I said. I don't usually throw temper tantrums but I was so mad and annoyed and irritated and ugh words could not describe. Ryan had been pretty quite during the whole exchange so I turned to look at him. He was closely inspecting the photos again. His face twisted in thought. It shames me to say but he looked cute.

Bobby turned to face Ryan." Ryan," he said getting his attention," you start tomorrow at 4."
