Hey guys I know I haven't posted anything in awhile but I got a request from my BFF to do a Hunger Games book. @HJ1106 or HennaJay is a big fan of the Hunger Games and Divergent and the 5th Wave so I really wanted to make this for her. So here I go.

Jessie POV..........

As I walk out of my home I see many scared people. I understand, they are worried about themselves and their children. I sadly don't have anyone to worry about except me in this district. My parents were both killed when I was young and I had no siblings.

I got in line to get my finger pricked/stamped and there is a little girl no older than 6 in front of me. She was shaking, I wouldn't blame her, the capital has been pushing the age to start getting into these so they start earlier.

After her I walk up and put out my hand. They prick and I place my thumb down on a piece of paper. Joining the crowd I see district 12's trouble maker on the end of his side closest to the girls. Meaning I have to stand next to him.

"Hey, do I know you from somewhere?" John asks in a way like he really wants to know.

I don't respond of course because I'm not the talkative person. Then he stares at me until I hear the magic words.

"Welcome to the 90th annual Hunger Games! Lets get started ladies first." (A/N No I didn't read the books yet but correct me if I need to change the #) John looks forward at that moment to see who gets drawn.

"Madison Zeplin. Please come up." (Don't ask where I got the name I don't know myself)

The little girl from earlier starts shaking like a leaf and starts crying. The guards pick her up and start carrying her to the stage. Before I realize I start running. Guards try to stop me, but then something came out of my mouth that I never realized would.

"I volunteer as tribute!"

Everyone stopped and looked at me. They put the girl down and she ran into her mother who was still in shock at my volunteer. She must have been running up as well. I walked up to the stage.

"Tell us your name my dear."

"Jessie."

"Just Jessie? Do you have a last name?"

"No. I don't."

"Okay, our female tribute Jessie. Now for the men."

I wait in anticipation. Who is it going to be? Please let it not be a child.

"John. Please come to the stage."

Oh no not him. S he didn't need to say his last name because he is the only John here.

As the brown hair brown eyed boy came up he rubbed the head of a little girl with the same hair and eyes as him. The girl I volunteered for. Her mother was quietly shedding tears and so was the girl.

"So ladies and gentlemen we give to you our tributes! May the odds be ever in your favor."

We were rush inside and sent to different rooms so we could say goodbye to loved ones and such. Well since I don't have any I just sat there waiting to get out. When the door opened I stood up because I know we are not leaving yet I was curious to who would want to see me. When a little brown blob started hugging my leg my eyes got wide I didn't think they would want to see me. I didn't notice the three people standing at the door.

"I'm so so so so sorry." The child cried into my leg until I bent down and touched her head and she looked me in the eyes.

"What is your name again?"

"Madison. Zeplin"

"Well Madison there is no need to be sorry." I say with a comforting smile to try and get her to stop crying. She then hugged me around my next because I was still eye level with her. Then I pick her up after I see she has fallen asleep and laid her on the couch. Before I turn around there is another voice.

"Thank you. So much."

I spin around wide eyed and see the three figures inside the room. One was John, and the other of the girl and a man that looked similar to them. I'm guessing the father.

"What do you mean?" I ask panicked that they had seen all of that.

"Sorry, Jessie right? We just wanted to thank you and Madison was begging to see you and say sorry. I'm Madison and John's father this is my wife."

"Nice to meet you and it wasn't a problem."

"It might not be a problem to volunteer but it is a problem to not die in there." Mrs. Zeplin said in a motherly way. John still hasn't spoken yet. He is going to bombard me after his family leaves.

"You still look familiar for some reason."

"What do you mean John? I don't think you have ever met her."

"He may have seen me around. I mean the other day I was in the market trading some of the meat I got." I say nervously hoping that that isn't it.

"Wait I remember you were at a stand and this lady gave you sapphire blue pin for your hair. I was right behind you."

GREAT! HE HAD TO BE THERE!

"Um y-yeah that's r-right."

Mr. Zeplin picked up Madison from the couch and said that they better be going. I nodded said goodbye and that it was nice to meet them. John gave them a final hug and his sister woke up as he gave her a kiss to the head.

"Bye Madison." She started crying again but silently this time knowing that there is a small chance that her brother will make it.

"Bye Bye J-John I will m-miss you."

"If I die know I will be waiting and watching you alright?"

"Okay."

They left but John stayed. Please don't ask please don't ask pl-

"So did your family not show or did they come and go?" He said looking me in the eyes.

Before I could answer it was time for us to go to the capital.

We were on the train that apparently held one other district because there weren't enough trains for all of us to get a train to ourselves and our victors who will be our "help" while outside of the games. The surviving victors are all from the other districts. So district 12 is going without or with the help of another victor from a different district.

I hope that Rebecca didn't get picked this year.

Lost in my thoughts I bump into someone.

"Jessie?"

Wait What?

"Rebecca?"

"OMG Jess I heard that you volunteered for a little girl after I was picked! Is it true?"

"Yeah Rebecca it is. She was only at max 6. I couldn't let a six-year old get in this. That's too young." I say sadly.

"Jess are you okay? It must have been hard in that room to say goodbye when you don't have anyone to say goodbye to. I also know when you think back to when you were 6 it is sad, but come on it has been what ten years, now time to move on."

"It must have been harder for everyone who has a family to say goodbye." As we walked I didn't see John and another boy start walking behind us right when I said that.

"What?!" OH boy here goes.

"What do you mean 'Harder for everyone who has a family.' I thought your family was there and left right away or just didn't show!"John started getting angrier by the second.

"First I didn't get to answer your question when you asked, and second no I don't have family they all died when I was 6 okay!" I yelled back and stormed off.

Soooo like don't like tell me please.
