A/N: Okay so there was supposed to be two gifs for this (Sam and Dean), but I can only post one on Wattpad. Part II will have a gif of Dean. Promise :)
Prompt inspiration: 642 Tiny Things to Write About by The San Francisco Writers' Grotto
Prompt: A fast-spreading virus knocks out people's capacity for anger. Half the city is infected. How does this make life worse?
Summary/prompt change: Sam and Dean are in your city when the virus hits–a crippling sickness that has no symptoms, other than making the person infected lose their ability to feel anger. There is nothing to do with anger, either–no violence, no frustration, no conflict. Not only does this make for a boring world, but it also means that the things and people that aren't affected are even angrier than ever. While doctors race for a cure, Sam and Dean have to race to stop a group of creatures wreaking havoc. Lucky for them, they've got a little help...
Your stupid watch was broken. Again.
You smacked the watch a few times, but it was frozen. Stuck. Ugh. As if your week could possibly get any worse.
The Virus had begun in your city. They called it Heaven's Plague, but you didn't see much heavenly about it besides the fact that it totally swept out angry thoughts. Anything that could cause conflict, any little tingles or urges to rebel and to stand up and say hey, asshole, you're really pissing me off today! You wouldn't have had a problem with it if it didn't crumble wills and make people totally spineless.
You were beginning to wonder if it was government-generated. And you didn't usually buy into that conspiracy bullshit.
The Virus wasn't infecting everyone. It had taken hold of your entire family, but it had mysteriously skipped over you. It had also skipped over a group of violent psychopaths that were going around and wreaking havoc on the city. You know, the usual stuff–theft, vandalism, brutal and bloody murders, torture, kidnapping...
You hurried faster down the alley. This was a bad part of the city– all smashed windows and abandoned buildings and places that screamed here's the perfect place to hide and grab your next victim, and then tie them up in this super dark and creepy place! Yeah, no thanks.
You turned onto a wider, more familiar road. There was the sound of shouting, and then shattering glass. Then a car alarm went off, followed by more screaming. A cold wind pushed through the street, blowing papers and trash across the cracked asphalt. You hunched forward and kept going, never ducking your head.
Two men came sprinting out of an alley ahead of you, guns drawn. They were staring into the alley behind them. The shorter man had blood trickling down the side of his face. The taller one was clutching his side, his fingers stained red. Your hand tightened around your gun, concealed by your jacket.
The thing that came out at them was tall, slender. It was a woman, her mouth red with blood. Dammit. Of all the things for two humans to get involved with, they had to pick a witch?
You didn't normally mind witches. Some were helpful, even nice, and technically, you'd have to be considered a witch too. But this chick? She obviously wasn't the kind you normally dealt with. The slight blackish glow of a spell around her hands was more than enough proof of that.
Great, you thought. And she's a powerful one.
At least a gun would work on her.
You clicked off the safety while it was in your coat and pulled out the gun. You lined it up, waiting. If I don't make this, I'm dead. You pulled the trigger once she stopped moving so damn much.
