When I awoke, I found myself in the hospital bed with Amy sitting in the chair next to me. I looked at the place where Kay’s body once laid.
“Huh… It moved, and the monster is gone too?” I said in a confused tone.
“Shadouu-oka.” Said Amy.
“Sh.. Sha- hoja whaty?” I could only muster my best reiteration of what Amy had just said.
“Shadow Walkers. Vile evil demons that hide in the shadows during the day, and come out at night.” She spoke in a calm voice.
“Does Kay’s…” I began to say, but was cut off by Amy.
“Yes. And his father is going to teach you how to fight them.” She said while looking at me.
I looked at Amy as a tear formed in the corner of my eye. She looked at me with a sad expression on her face. I began to cry like I’ve never had before. I couldn’t stop crying as Amy wrapped her arms around me, and held me trying to comfort me. I eventually began to calm down, and Kay’s father walked into the room.
“I… See you’re awake.” He said with a remorseful voice.
“Yeah…” I could barely speak.
“It’s not your fault at all.” Kay’s father said as he walked over, and hugged me as if I was his own son.
“I... Want… Revenge!” I said in an anger filled tone. All I wanted was revenge. Revenge on that bitch that stabbed me, and revenge on the shadow walkers. Kay’s father looked at me, then Amy. He nodded his head.
“We’ll get our revenge.” He said, and let me go. He clenched his fist looking at the spot where Kay was killed. I knew then, and there I would be training hard to be prepared for a fight. Kay’s father left something in the room as he left. Amy walked over, and removed the cloth revealing a katana. She looked at me as I stared at the weapon in her hand.
“I’m going to train to be strong, and I will kill every last shadow walker.” I said clenching my fist.
“You won’t be alone. You’ll have me and Kay’s father by your side fighting to the end.” She said with a stern voice. We looked at each other. I looked at my hands remembering that creature, and Kay’s body. I wanted every shadow walker dead, and I knew who I was supposed to go to for help.
“Can you leave me be for now?” I asked Amy.
“Yeah.” She replied, and left the room. I laid back closing my eyes, and concentrated hard. Then I heard a familiar voice.
“So, your journey begins now…”
