One April 13,2003 thousands of US marines entered the town of Tikrit,Iraq accompanied by hundreds of armored vehicles in search of Saddam Hussein who was believed to be hiding there. Tikrit was Hussein's home town.
Amidst all this chaos, there lived a young girl named 'Nazeefah' with her old grandmother in their small ancestral house. She was 16 years old. She was very beautiful and her past had made her this fierce, bold and brave girl that she was. She lost her mother at a very young age in a shootout and her father died of liver failure when she 14. Her father devoted his life to provide for his family, what was left of it, but after his death all the responsibilities landed on Nazeefah's shoulder. Their family had a little farm near the Tigris river where she worked on to provide for herself and her grandmother. She was not much educated but longed for a proper education. She could not complete her education because of the responsibilities and also, being a girl did not help the case. ISIS sent warnings to not send their female child to school, according to them girls are not meant to be educated. A lot of schools were even destroyed by them. But Nazeefah loved reading books and wanted to teach and educate other girls in the city with whatever she knew.
