The wolfs were hard at work. Every wolf on the south land was busy helping build the border. The border was to keep the northern wolfs out of the southern wolfs land. There was a rumor that the northern wolfs were planning to attack. Back when, this wouldn't have been a problem, alphas, and warriors would gear up, plan, make sure everyone was safe, and surprise attack. But that was back when. Ever since the commander in chief, Seth was killed, things have gone awry. Now the only thing to protect us is that border. Plus, the alphas. But they're only alphas in training. Seth was their trainer. Now they're on a slight pause. Besides Kenai the elder training them what he remembers, the alphas are in trouble.
My arms were trembling like a chihuahua on a table. I could not take this anymore. My body was giving out and if I didn't stop, I would probably end up breaking all my limbs.
"Luna. Why did you stop. You are not done with this training session. Grab the log and continue doing your arm ups." Kenai the elder said as I sat down to take a breather.
"Sorry master kenai, I couldn't hold it any longer. I'm sorry if I disappointed you, I promise I'll get better, I just need time."
"There is no time. Now get back to work before I make you clean all the cabins in the clan." Kenai responded.
Don't get me wrong, I love kenai and all, like he's a father to me, but sometimes he's just too much.I ended up finishing my workouts and made my way over to my tent. I could feel my heart beating it's way out of my chest. Pounding it's way out.
As I slowly limped my way over to my section, I could feel a slight breeze on my skin. It did not feel good against my sweat.
Ugh I hate this stupid alpha shit. Why do we have to train every second of every day. I have a life. I have friends. I don't need this. Why couldn't Diana the berry picker be chosen, huh?
"WHY ME." i screamed at the top of my lungs before realizing half the clan was asleep.
I could feel eyes from around the tent glaring at me."Sorry, sorry, I um, well, s-sorry, uh, sHIT OK." I quickly ran out of the tent making my way over to the sacred tree.
"Fucking hell, this is the last thing I need, another 'talk' from Kenai..." As I talked to myself frantically, I heard a twig break and muffled voices coming from the river.
I swiftly ducked down behind the boulder and peeked over the edge."Cody, what the hell were you thinking. This is the worst idea you've had yet. If I don't get my coins in the end, you're dead meat..."
"Who are you..." I whispered to myself wondering who the mystery people were.
"CAMILA!"
I jumped back and tumbled into the brush.
"Luna. What are you doing in the brush. Hurry out before Lemark wakes up. Who were you talking to anyways?" Camila said as she helped me up.
"No one, just, no one." I dusted my hands off and crouched back down to peer over the big rock.
"What are you doing, we should be sleeping. I heard Kenai is going to make us practice our sparring tomorrow. And I'm pretty sure the girls will kick our asses as they are fast asleep and WE are not and-"
I pulled camila down and covered her mouth. She stared at me with suspicious eyes.
"Shhhhh." I whispered putting my finger to my lips. I slowly took my hand off camila's mouth, pointed, and went back to spying on the secret people."Are we there yet Cody. I'm getting impatient here."
"Almost there Jordan. Almost there."The moonlight had shined through the clouds making the mystery guys' faces visible.
I squint."Who are they?" I hear camila whisper.
"I don't know. I don't recognize their faces." I squint some more.
They look strangely comfortable with our land.*snap*
I looked behind me to see camila with her foot on a stick.
"WHAT WAS THAT? DID YOU HEAR THAT?" I hear one of the boys say.
OH FUCK
"Cody, chill the fuck out I can't take your yappin' on and on for another second."
I breathe out.
The guys come to a stop behind this gigantic tree. I couldn't see them but I could still hear them a bit."Let's just spend the night here. Katya won't be too happy with us coming back this late."
"You're right."
Then everything was quiet.Camila and I both looked at each other and then we went back to our tents. I tip toed as softly as possible to my section and laid down.
Katya.
Why does that name sound so familiar.
Whatever, I'll tell Kenai tomorrow.
Finally, I managed to drift off to sleep.A/N i don't remember where i left off and where i was going with this but who cares:
