-Mike's pov-
I was too excited and suprised to even know what to say.
"Are you ok?" She asked me.
"W-What?" I say, "Yeah, I'm fine."
My work HT was in my wifes bag when I heard it. I could feel her eyes on me.
"Hold on." I say quietly. Without thinking twice about it I picked it up.
"Is Cap'n hammer there?" I say.
'Yes.'
"Then tell him to deal with it since he thinks hes smarter than this 'half trained fire Captain.' " I hissed, "Captain Stoker out."
'But Capp'n--'
I cut the HT off and put it back in her bag. This was one time I didn't want to leave my wife and daughter alone. Besides Captain Hammer knew what he was doing. But, I knew that tomorrow I would be hearing about this from my superior, and if I got lucky I'd still be a Captain. I was starting to enjoy it more than I did before.
