Awakening

It was cold and dark...I couldn't move, yet my body levitated. As if soft strands of satin caressed me upwards.

Didn't I die? I was in my mother's arms. Am I going to heaven? Or hell? I don't know...all I know is that I died trying to save my sister...

It felt like I was coughing up dirt as some sand textured feel glided off of me. As If some questionable yet familiar presence was pulling her up, so did it pull away the loneliness that lingered in her system like a virus.

My eyes started to burn, light piercing my eyelids. Everything was so blurry as I tried to locate myself. I hadn't realized that I was holding my breath. My chest heaved heavily as I finally took in a cold refreshing breath.

But do I need to breathe...when I'm dead?

The light that had uncomfortably burned my vision started to feel welcoming and warm and when I parted my heavy eyelids, there he was. The man in the moon in a warm shimmer. My eyes were fixated on him as he gently put me back to the ground, dirt cuddling it's way between my toes.

When I looked around, I noticed that I was surrounded by a green forest, a path coming it's way towards me. A small tombstone sat behind me, but...that's not my name. It can't be...

The Man in the Moon told me that my Name Akiko is. Just like the Fall spirit I was talking about to my sister.

I look up at a small stick, a small tree burried behind the stone. My mother did what I asked for.

I looked back up to the Moon. He only said my Name...that's it.

I saw something shimmer on the ground and I ran to it to examen it.
It wasn't light I got to admit, but as I picked it up, I could see that this was a scythe. A beautiful pattern on it's metal and a stick was holding in the middle. On top of the blade it was thick, where I could stand on.

I swung it around to test it. It was fine but I have to train myself to carry it better. Gazing down, I saw that I was wearing that yellow like ponsho and these brown comfy sweatpants.
My feets where slightly covered by thick socks, open by my toes and heels.

Past my feet I noticed the single grass strands reaching up to tickle me. I was levitating, but before I could completely comprehend of what just happened, I wobbled back to the floor.

"Wai-wha! I just...", and so I started laughing. This can't be real! I'm either in a coma or I was really revived as the Autumn Spirit.

So I tried again, stood up and concentrated on the thought of levitating again. When it happened my head started hurting, but the moons guidance soothed it. My limbs were stretched apart so I can find some balance, and so I occasionally tumbled out of it.

When I slightly got the hang of it I realized that I was high up by the tree tops. Something deep down made me want to touch them. Either because of the tempting wave or the unconscious
Knowing what'll happen if I do. And it was true.

With just one single touch of my fingertip the once green leaf was an ombre of brown to orange before it fell from my hand like a feather. With a loud wush, the tree turned orange. I clumsily flew over to the next green leaf and with another touch it was yellow.

In just seconds, the trees surrounding my grave were all in a multicolored hue. The town's light made each of the colors glow happily.

The mentioned town was shining brightly. The view and feel was so familiar...my home. The balance problems during flight were still present as I practically stumbled in the air over to small town. After my clumsy landing, children were laughing joyfully while walking from door to door. From make-up to masks, princesses to zombies, holding pumpkin bowls or simple bags filled with candy.
