My hair has grown several inches since I was bitten. I have also gained more muscles. While neither of these have much to do with me becoming a werewolf, they do illustrate the little differences in my life now. Sometimes I feel like a whole different person.

I feel it is becoming more important for me to reenter the real world before it becomes increasingly difficult. I have not been in a normal atmosphere for months now and I am afraid of what might happen if I isolate myself completely. I have not expressed my concerns to my other half but I am sure they reached her at least a little. The edges between our minds have blurred, bleeding into each other. We act and think separately, but sometimes our emotions cross over. However, those emotions can influence what we think and what we do.

Wolves are not solitary by nature. Being a lone wolf may be a personality trait of mine but it goes against a real wolf's nature.

I started walking towards town through the forest. I know it is less than a mile in this direction. Flip-flops aren't the best hiking gear but neither are Jean shorts and a tank top but that didn't stop me either.

'Your body is so pathetic. Your knee just made a cricking sound that I have never heard before. And earlier this morning your shoulder was squeaking.'

"You've been radio silent all morning and this is how you greet me!? And I can't exactly help it, can I? My body works, doesn't it?"

'Hardly. It is far below standards for a creature of my elite status.'

"You're under no obligation to use this body if it doesn't please you."

'Oh, you'd love that wouldn't you?'

"Stop trying to pick a fight with me all the time. For the last five days you've been complaining non-stop." I express while flinging my hands in the air. "If you insist on continuing I will repeatedly sing Kokomo very loudly until dusk."

'I have no idea what that is but it sounds rather unpleasant. I suppose I will appease you just this once.'

"Thank you." I take a few steps before seeing a street through the trees. "It appears we're here. I'll have to be quiet now."

'Oh, no! What am I going to do without your stupid voice filling the air.'

That's it!

"Aruba, Jamaica, ooh I wanna take ya'! Bermuda, Bahamas, come on pretty mama! Key Largo, Montego, baby why don't we go, Jamaica! In the Florida Keeeeeys there's a place called Kokomo! That's where you wanna goooooo!" I was so off-key but didn't care as I belted out the lyrics.

'Okay! I admit defeat you insufferable fool!'  She growled at me. At least I found a way to shut her up. I think she was quicker to give up because we were approaching town, her usual stubborn self would have endured the torture for at least several more verses.

I step into the pavement and was a little unnerved to find a few people eyeing me curiously. I guess she had the right to feel embarrassed. I would be too if I wasn't so tired. I ran my hand through my brown, wavy hair and started to observe my surroundings.

'Talk about a one horse town.'

"Yeah." I say under my breath. I stopped at the corner and smelled the air. Food! I turned my head north. That way! I turn left and a few hundred feet in front of me was a diner. I increased my pace and entered the establishment. It was called Maggie's Café. I'm not a big coffee drinker but as long as they serve burgers I'm okay. The smell of beef in the air told me they did. I practically started salivating before I even sat down. Within a few moments a waitress came over and asked me what I wanted.
