Intro to Môraine + Author's Note

The year is X283. Old Earth has been wiped out by a ravaging of natural and man-made disasters. Radioactivity levels have skyrocketed, and pollution, tsunamis, fires, and earthquakes tore apart the planet. Violence promoted by the planet's own people depleted the population enough that Earth's remaining leaders were forced to step in. Drastic measures were taken, and they organized a new country, a new government- a monarchy. They organized Môraine.

Time is now kept in years past since the termination of most life on Earth- most continents were completely wiped out, and with them any native species or other inhabitants. A single valley between two mountains was preserved, and over it, an electrical dome was placed in order to keep natural disasters out and keep inhabitants in, whether they liked it or not.

In Môraine, there aren't typically many choices to be had.

The valley, at its finest, was a sanctuary, holding survivors and what little family they had left. But most importantly, it held hope. Most living in Môraine now, however, are no longer survivors. They've become prisoners to a corrupt monarchy, using false justice to enforce rules that separate people into distinct sects.

Now, after years of Royals ignoring the working class so far from the central districts, revolt is blossoming and anger has begun to thrive in Môraine like weeds in a garden.

Except in Môraine, it's rare to find someone who even remotely resembles a flower.

EDITED 2/18/17

I just wanted to give you all some introduction to the storyline before I dive right into it, it's only a little complicated but as the book progresses you guys should begin to understand it more if you don't already.

I've written on wattpad before but I took a big break from it, but the story I was writing had plenty of reads when it got deleted. I've been reading more books on here as of late, and I loved reading some historical, some romantic, and some filled with action and adventure, but I couldn't seem to find one that had the perfect balance of all of those feelings for me. So I decided to make one.

After a long while of plot mapping, developing every single character and deciding who they would become as the story progressed, I finally wrote my first chapter and realized the way it was written seemed like you guys already knew everything about the setting and circumstances, which you don't.

If you have any questions or get confused by anything feel free to comment and I'll try my best to respond, I want this book to flow smoothly for all of you and I hope that I can make sure that it does. Also, there is a lot of generally uncommon words used for specific purposes in this book, so if you see a word that looks made up it probably isnt, just check the definition and try to make the connection ;)
