The Beginning of The End

Majestic-looking chamber with letters" Welcome to all Freshers" hanging from the entrance, fake yet iridescent flowers, a long red carpet lying on the floor in the aisle and leading to a grand rostrum and several squads of other kids, some paired and some not.
I tentatively walk upon the red carpet as I enter into the hall, darting my eyes at every single direction spontaneously. Grosses of red seats upon which are some brochures and a minuscule cold drink bottle each are laden on the floor. It's very envious to see some students already with partners and friends on the very first day. I wonder where I'm supposed to take a seat. A woman, seemingly some professor and probably in her forties, is seen standing obviously behind the seats. If I do not guess wrong, she is ushering students where to sit. I approach and ask her, " Ma'am, I'd like to know where I'm supposed to take my seat if you don't mind". "Not at all, please let me know from which major you are so that I can usher you right away," she smoothly replies. " Of course, I'm from Architecture major," I answer. "Then, it's the penultimate row, dear, just pace a few more straight from there,"she says pointing to a few yards' distance ,"and "find a signboard that reads "Welcome Architectural students( Freshers) and that's where you can take any seat," she patiently answers. "Yeah.Thank you very much for doing me this favor," I politely thank her. "My pleasure, dear," says the woman. I find the letters she speaks of and take a seat near a chubby and brown-skinned boy. I see only five students in this Architecture students' seating section. Others must be late or do not just care about the Initiation. That Suye Tar is evidently one of those. The chubby boy quickly removes his backpack from his side-seat so that I can sit and smiles at me. He extends his hand forward and speaks as he does so,"My name's Min Khant. You're also from Architecture, I suppose," he starts. "Yes. My pleasure," I say and grab his hand.
"I was starting to think that freshman year architecture students have been wiped out from the map. Look around. 28's missing," he says as he quickly darts around nearby. "Yeah. I met one at the canteen. Not everybody seems to care much about the first day, I presume," I say with a chuckle. He returns a short giggle, revealing his pearl-white sharp teeth. As we speak, seven more students throng the Architecture section and occupy various seats together. "Got a few more. No more misgivings," I say to Min Khant. "Sure," he replies as he flies his agile glances across the arrived ones.
An old man with a pale but a gleaning skin glides onto the dais and gives courtesy with a slight bow. He reaches the mic and prepares for the conduct. It's eight quarter already and there're no traces of the others in our major including that mean lady. Two more girls enter into the seating section and subsequent to their arrival comes that condescendingly mean Suye Tar. She sees me but again confirms her negligence by dismissing me askance. "Crush on the first look, huh?"asks Min Khant. I didn't notice that I've been gazing her that long. "Nah. In fact, it's sort of the opposite. She's startlingly arrogant. That's the one I met at the canteen. Don't realise what makes her so vain," I say to Min Khant. "She should be,"he replies in an instant. "What do you mean?"I ask. "Her lineage. Her ancestors. Impressive and enviable regal family descendant. Daughter of a Royal Paliament Representative. So,I'm not surprised ,I must say. She's already known by folks around here,"he answers as if he were her henchman. "Is that so? Hmm...".
"Welcome, welcome. Welcome to all freshman year engineering and architectural students. Today, I'm going to conduct you through the background information, pivotal knowledge and subjects or majors offered and taught by this Yangon Technological University on behalf of all the professors, rectors and responsible folks of this school. Firstly, I welcome you all again to our campus and wish you a very happy term," speaks the old man on the stage.
