Soul's POV
Maka dragged me into our house. She let go of my wrist and went into her room.
"Get ready, Soul! We're leaving soon." She called. I sighed, and slumped down on the couch. "Why does she want to hang out with Kid? Out of all people.
I've recently been being nice to her because I realized that I actually love her. Not like a little crush, I really like her. She's cool, she's pretty, she's funny, she's amazing.
I pushed off a pile of DVD's angrily off the coffee table in front of me. Maka ran out, in a tank top and shorts, her hair dripping wet. "What happened?!" She asked. I shook my head. "Uh, nothing. I accidentally knocked over the DVD's. I'm fine."
She looked at me for a second then went back in her room. I sighed, picking up the DVD's and scattering them on the table. About 20 minutes later, Maka finally came out, wearing a tight gray tank top, underneath an airy white tank top, and black and white tie-dye shorts. Her hair was in a pony tail as usual, and she was... wearing makeup?! I have never seen her wear makeup.
God dammit, she must like Kid...
She smiled big, and slipped on some flip flops. She grabbed my wrist again and dragged me out the door.
"Lets go! It's already 7:15." She said. We walked out to my motorcycle. She sat on it, and gripped the handlebars.
"Can I drive again? Pleeeeeeease?" She begged. God dammit, Maka. Why do you have to be so cute? I sighed and sat behind her.
"Yay! Thanks Soul" I nodded, and I held on to her shoulders. I felt her tense up. She stopped revving the motorcycle. I put my head around her shoulder, and looked at her. "What's wrong Maka?" She shook her head and started revving the motorcycle again, and started driving. We were silent most of the ride.
"Where exactly are we meeting him?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"Um... Damn. He didn't say a specific place... But he said he wanted to walk around the city, so probably at the city's gates." I groaned.
"Are you serious? I swear Maka, if he isn't there..." She shrugged her shoulders. We pulled up at the city gates, and unfortunately, found Kid standing there, waiting.
"Wow, you can drive a motorcycle?" Kid asked, as we hopped off. Maka smiled and giggled.
"Yeah, second time actually." She said. Kid smirked. "I should have you take me for a ride sometime." He said. Maka gave him a thumbs up.
"Haha, sure!" I rolled my eyes.
Not on my damn motorcycle. I sighed. "So where are we going?" I asked. Kid shrugged his shoulders.
"Just walking around. The city looks really nice at nighttime." He said. I stuffed my hands in my pockets. Kid and Maka walked side by side, and I was walking close behind. Maka looked behind at me, and waved me to come up here. I sped up my walking until I was side by side with Maka. I looked around at our surroundings. The city actually did look pretty cool at night. It was all lit up and active. The whole time, Maka and Kid were just chatting it up. Other times, Kid was flipping out about how things were symmetrical or asymmetrical. He had nosebleeds, and breakdowns. We got lots of stares too. If I didn't know Kid, I would've Maka-chopped him. But, of course, that's Maka's thing.
I don't see why Maka's dragging me along with her. I'm just a third wheel here. Nobody's talked to me. Maka just gave me a couple of smiles. Of course, I smiled back, but they were fake smiles. I'm actually good at faking happiness. Like this morning, I feel like Maka doesn't tell me anything, and it hurts. Can she not trust me? I'm her partner... Her weapon. Her friend.
