Chapter 2: New School

Hope, Emily, and Chris walked into Redwoods High School like they owned the place.

Hope's P.O.V.
I was walking to my first period class when I bumped into this dark figure.

"Oh. Opps. Sorry person. I guess I didn't see you there."

"No it was m- wait. Did you just call me person?" Asked the girl in front of me.

"Yes. I did. But only because I didn't see you." I say as I bend and pick up my fallen papers.

"What are you new? Noone insults me like that! You.... FREAK!" She yells in my face. I back up a bit and stare at her.

"Well so sorry. I guess I DIDN'T know!!" I holler back. She goes to hit me when she's pulled back, by a tall boy.

"Calm down Nicole. She's new." He states calmly. She yanks her arm away from him and glares in my direction. "This isn't over." She hisses at me as she passes by.

"Ignore her. She just thinks she's the queen of school." The boy states as he offers me the rest of my papers.

"Thanks." I say quietly as I take them. Our hands slightly touch and he jumps a bit. Probably thinks I'm cold... I think to myself.

"What's your name?" He asks as he smiles a bit.

"Hope. Hope raven." I say, "and you?"

"Ace Black, nice to meet you Hope." He sticks a hand out for me to shake.

"Nice to meet you too." I say as I shake his hand, then I begin to walk to my class. "Well, see you later or whatever."

He runs up to my side, "Wait, what class are you heading to?" He asks as he grabs my class schedule. He smiles and hands me my schedule back. "I'll walk you then, my class is down the hall from where yours is."

I shrug, "Okay, but keep up please." I say walking a bit faster so I don't show up late on my first day.

He smiles, "No problem. So where are you from?" He asks as we walk.

I Smile back, "From Nebraska. Me, and my two very best friends." I answer politely.

"Oh well let me be the first to say welcome to Redwood, Montana. Maybe we can hang more. Your friends, my friends, me, and you. All of us." He says as we stop at my classroom.

"I will have to ask my friends, Emily's real shy so she has to be the one to decide." I answer as I step into my class just as the first bell rings.

"Oh, well I hope she says yes, it's not every day I meet a cute girl who's willing to talk to me." He winks before he walks off.

I smile and walk into my class and find my two friends. "Hey guys." I say as I sit next to them.

Finally the bell rang for the end of school, I tried to find Ace again but I guess he may have went home early.

Chris falls into step with me. "So who was the hot guy that walked you to class this morning?" He nudges my side giggling like a third grader.

I blush at his words but shrug. "Just a guy who saved me from an almost attack from the she-beast known as Nicole." I answer as we walk to find Emily.

"Oh, will you see him again? Does he have any friends that are single?" He hits me with every question he can think of, I sigh as we find Emily.

"Hey Emmy." I smile as I hug her, just as I pull away Ace's note falls out of my binder.

Emily bends to pick it up. "What's this?" She asks as she begins reading it. It said:

"Hey Hope, I was hoping we could hang sometime without the drag of school. Text me?

*7892847329 - Ace Black"

Emily looked at me. "Okay explain..."

I giggle and sigh, thinking It's gonna be a long night...
