Restored Love

Chapter 2

"Where were you?" My mom's booming voice scares me half to death which creates a shiver down my spine. I look at Alex and glare at him before walking out of the room, but before I could get out he catches up to me and spins me around. I give him a stern look before pushing him away.

"Don't worry about me mum, just at the mall. I was at a friends house.", I lie as I grab my keys from the counter. I look for my shoes around the room until I see Alex holding them. I glare at him while snatching the shoes from his hands. My mother sighs on the other end of the line, and I frown. I really hated to lie, but I'm not going to go ahead and tell my mother 'I lost my virginity to a guy who used to be my best friend while we were drunk.' That would not turn out well.

"Alright, just get home soon. We'll talk about this later.", she says. I quietly agree before hanging up. I put the phone in my pocket and look at the wall, ignoring all eye contact with him.

"You wanna get coffee?", Alex suddenly says. My head snaps towards him, and I cock my head a little. "You know.. Just us. Talking.", he adds on.

I let out a scoff and say, "With you? Oh please, I wouldn't hang out with you even if it meant me getting killed by a cow!" Alex looks down and shoves his hands into his pockets. "You know, I really thought you were smart enough than to do change into this, Alex.", I said sternly.

I started to walk away, but he grabs my wrist and drags me out of the house. He forces me into his car and drives off.

"Alex, what the hell!", I screech at him. He gives me an expression that I couldn't really read then turns his attention back to the road. We arrive at a small cafe near the town. I sigh and get out of the car. We start walking to the cafe before Alex stops me. I look at him with confusion before I see a girl, about my age, walking over to us.

"Hey there.", she smirks at Alex. Alex smiles at, being completely oblivious to the girl who's obviously trying to flirt with him.

"I was just heading to my place, care to join?", she says with a voice, barely above a whisper. She drags her pointer finger down Alex's chest, having her eyes follow the action of her fingers. The girl scoots closer to Alex, just until there was no space between them. I could see the look in Alex's' eyes- he was uncomfortable. "You look like you could use a good, well let me not say it in public.", she winks at him.

As I was watching the girl flirting with Alex, I got this feeling in the pit of my stomach, making me want to punch the girl until she couldn't breath. I do not like him, I do not like him... I kept on telling myself. But I lost it when the girl stuck her hand in his pants.

I lunged at her like she was my prey. We both fell to the ground with a thud while I was pulling her hair harshly.

"Keep your fucking hands out of his pants you whore!", I screamed at her whilst she cried in pain. I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist and pick me up, dragging me away from the whore.

"Let me finish her! Let go of me!", I try to squirm away from his grip, but he's not budging.

"Cara stop! She's done.", Alex chuckles. I start turning red before walking into the cafe. We sit down on a couple of stool chairs at the bar. "What do you want?", Alex asks. I tell him what I want and he nods. After I get my Peppermint Mocha, Alex sets his hand on my thigh and rubs it gently whilst looking deep into my eyes. I see the corners of his mouth starting to twitch up every time he moves his hand against my thigh. I give him a 'what-the-fuck-are-you-doing' face but he just smiles. This was a smile he used to give me, the look in his eyes was the look he used to give me. Used to.. I look into his eyes and see a blurry memory coming back.

*FLASHBACK*

We were in my backyard during the summer, just running around my yard. Alex was chasing me because he wanted a hug and I'm not a big fan of them. He suddenly catches up to me and puts his hands around my waist behind me. He sets his head on my shoulder once we stop and I set my hands on his. I felt calm, until I felt as if I was flying.
