Reincarnated

Chai woke up floating in the surrounded in darkness, but a light mixed with a warm orange glow came from above him and onto his face. He tried figuring out what was happening and where he was, but had no memory. Despite him being awake his eyes seemed half closed. He didn't think about looking around he continued to look at the light which was in front of him. It was bright, but not bright enough to blind his eyes.

Suddenly, a figure appeared above him in front of the glowing light. It was a griffin that floated above him. They stared at each other for a moment before the griffin opened its mouth. Seeing this Chai thought the griffin was about to make his creature-like noises, but to his surprise the griffin started to speak. "Hello there" it said "You're most likely confused, so I'll try filling you in on what is happening."

Chai stared at the griffin. He didn't have enough energy yo speak, but he paid close attention and allowed the griffin to explain. "As you should already know, you're dead due to bullet in the forhead. It was saddening, but it's how it happened... My name is Orthius. I'm one of the many gods that roam around on earth. Now, I was watching how your last day on Earth came to be, and I do say it was interesting. Seeing you suddenly get filled with courage like that even though you knew you were probably going to die at the end. Your sudden courage was... Strange... It was nothing like I've ever seen or felt before. So, as soon as you died I came for a friendly hello." Orthius said.

Chai started feeling upset after remembering that he died. He wondered about his family he left behind like that. Thinking about this hurt him even more. "Hey, it's alright." Orthius commented after sensing how upset Chai was getting, "Your past family is fine though they're sad for you. Now, I have a little compromise. Are you ready for it?" Chai nodded a bit with the little energy he had. "Alright, as you should know I'm the God of Emotions. I take emotions very seriously. My power is, of course, emotional manipulation." He stated.

Chai widen his eyes a bit from hearing this. It seemed strange to him. How is a griffin able to manipulate others and maybe even one's own emotion? He wondered about this for a bit before Orthius started speaking again. "Here's my compromise. If I talk to the God of Life to reincarnate you right now, will you allow me to come with you... But in the object of a crown upon your head. I can't be separated from you in crown form, so that means no one will be able to try and steal me away." Orthius stopped talking after sensing Chai's suspension in this compromise he had.

Even though Chai was superstitious about the compromise he continued to listen. Orthius looked at him for a moment and started speaking again "Uh, hmm. I see you're superstitious about this, but of you choose to agree I'll allow you to use my strength of truly needed. Yes, you will be born with my power of manipulating emotions. All I'm asking is to come with you. I won't always be shown on your head in crown form. Yes I'll disappear so no one would ask about it or come after you." Chai soon became less superstitious about what he was being asked.

After Orthius explained even more Chai thought about it for a moment. Orthius then added "One last thing..." Chai got out of his train of thoughts and looked at Orthius. "Uhh, once you're reincarnated... Of course you won't have your memories of your past life... You also won't have any memory about what I've told you about my compromise or the powers you'll gain, until you first time you use powers. You already know how emotions could work. Once raged you get stronger cause you're blinded and worried about ending what caused you to be enraged. That's the only negative effect about this power..."

Chai stayed quiet thinking about what his answer would be. He knew how emotions worked cause he would read about them even though he didn't take psychology. Chai looked at Orthius and nodded. He knew he was mostly calm and rage wouldn't overwhelm him as much. "Really? You're sure you want to agree with it? After you agree you'll be half demon. You won't be a griffin, but a wolf. As a human you'll have the wings, wolf-like ears, a fluffed tail, claws, and fangs. You won't be a normal human like you were..." Said Orthius.

Chai nodded, still one-hundred percent with his chosen answer. Orthius smiled and nodded, "Alright, once you're born your new name is Crimson. May everything come well for you." Chai smiled a bit. As soon as he blinked and opened his eyes he was in the arms of someone. He stared at the two figures that were watching and smiling at him. He was now in the care of his new family.
