When she woke up that morning the pattering of the raindrops could be heard against her glass window, loud and clear. She groaned, upset at the fact that her wonderful dream had been disturbed by her conscious mind. She regretted the decision to stay up past midnight to finish a novella her class had been studying in depth. The Metamorphosis by Franz Kakfa. It was a pretty old book written by a guy who didn't feel loved and appreciated by the people around him. Kamaria could relate to the feeling, having to emancipate herself from her parents at the age of 17 just when she had lost her first love. No one wanted her. No one really cared how she felt. So simply, she stopped giving a sh*t about everyone else.
"7 am is just too damn early for a normal human," she grumbled as she yanked her thick duvet off of her body, allowing the cold, crisp air to make goosebumps appear all over her body. When she opened the blinds, the lack of sunshine only worsened her sour mood, tempting her to climb back into her warm bed. But she couldn't. Looking out through the foggy window, all she could see was gray. Gray buildings, gray roads and gray sky.
Turning her head away from the window, she slowly made her way into the bathroom to prepare herself for another dreadful day at work. It was the weekend after all.
*His pov*
"There she is. Awake right on time," he thought to himself.
With vibrant green eyes peeking up at her from under his gray hoodie, he studied her morning body. Hair disheveled, pointing in every direction. Pajama pants nearly hanging off her hips due to their large size. And her breasts, large and perky due to the chill of the air, seen through her t-shirt.
"My poor girl. G never taught her to not stand in front of the window looking like a goddess. Someone could be watching my beauty."
And then she turned away.
*Omni pov *
She didn't even bother to brush her hair that morning. Showering the night before allowed her hair to turn into a wavy mess. But she liked that mess.
"Kam?" Her grandma called from the kitchen
"Yeah, G?" She yelled back as she put on her socks, hopping around on one leg. She heard some feet shuffling until she saw her grandma at her bedroom door.
"Made you some eggs for breakfast," she said softly with a warm smile Kamaria appreciates.
"Thank you," she responds as she lays a swift kiss to her grandma's wrinkled cheek. Even at the age of 70, she continues to have a heart of gold, strong and beautiful. Kamaria appreciates that.
After scarfing down 3 scrambled eggs and a tall glass of milk, she leaves the apartment and awaits the elevator. It only took a few seconds for the doors to open up and take her down 3 floors. Taking the stairs wasn't her thing.
Finally, the elevator doors opened with a ding, letting Kamaria step out in a haste without paying attention to her surroundings.
"Oof," she puffed as she knocked into a hard chest, nearly falling onto her bum in the process if she hadn't been caught by a large pair of hands.
It was a boy who had caught her.
"I'm so, so, so sorry about that," she scrambled nervously, gripping onto his shoulders for dear life. With his ring clad fingers still on her hips, she wasn't so sure how to feel about this stranger.
"It was my fault," he responds slowly, peering down at her due to height differences.
Kamaria smiles at the green eyed boy, his presence seemingly familiar to her and walks out of his grasp into the cold outdoors.
