~Blake's POV~
"BLAKE, BLAKE!! You in here?"', Alex annoyingly barges through my bedroom door, not caring about the 'warning do not enter', sign. Which I take seriously !
I put down my book, The Great Gatsby, which I am only reading hoping they'll make it into a movie and I then look up at my sister.
"Alex seriously, can you read? the sign says do not enter! Do you ever see me just walking into your ............."
I was interrupted again by Alex, "Seriously, Blake listen, there is a reason I barged in like I did".
"Oh ok, now you have my full attention, go on". I say a little upset that I can't keep telling my little sister off. It's one of the privileges of being the older sister.
"We'll, I was in the kitchen getting a snack when mum and dad got home. They were arguing well about err..... you". Alex stumbled on the last words in her fast spoken sentence.
"What were they saying, WAIT what did I do?" I respond slowly, 1 my parents remembered I existed 2 they actually care about me to have an argument over me. And I thought my life couldn't get any worse my parents actually care about me!
"It might have something to do with the sand trails that you've left all through out the house, after your've gone you know what!" Alex says knowing that I promised dad that I would give surfing a break during exams. "Oh and dad sounded really pissed, so have fun explaining!" Alex says with a huge grin on her face leaving my room.
I yell out after her, "Love you too Alex"', not!
I pick my book back up and start to read waiting for my name to be called so I can get severed my punishment.

"BLAKE ELIZABETH HUNTER! We need to speak with you! So get your butt down here NOW!!" Those classy words of course came out of the mouth of my fun loving father, ha not!
I jump to my feet and run down stairs round the corner to the door of my fathers study, which is about a 100meter sprint. And by the way I get faster ever time.
I stand at the door of my fathers office, before I walk in I do the sign of the cross wishing god for good luck and I walk in.
My father is sitting in the big office chair behind his desk, and my mother is standing behind him to the left. My father motions for me to sit down in one of the two very expensive chairs, which by its price tag it should be comfy right? Uh uh you'd be wrong, it's one very uncomfortable chair.
Before I could open my mouth to explain, dad asks "Blake what does a promise mean to you?" He's looking straight at me, with a disappointed look on his face, I can even see the disappointment in his eyes. I don't get how it works, but I always feel really guilty after I've been given 'the face'.
"A promise is a commitment between one person to another agreeing to do or not to do something", I say looking at that ground trying not to make eye contact, and answering this question was a little easy because, I had to answer it on one of my year 10 exams.
"Blake do you believe that people should keep the promises they make?" And this is were I'm caught red handed agreeing on what I did was wrong. I swear my father would make a better lawyer than an business men.
"Yes", I whisper back
"Sorry, what was that?" My father asks back. I know he heard exactly what I said, he just wants to rub his victory in my face.
"YES! I BELIEVE PEOPLE SHOULD KEEP THE PROMISES THEY MAKE!!" I yell back, now standing up and leaning over my father's desk.
I'm guessing my father and mother did not expect that reaction coming and they jumped back. I didn't even see that reaction coming until it was to late.
"I'm sorry", I say sitting back down into that uncomfortable chair, waiting for my punishment, knowing that their not going to listen to my explanation after my outburst.
"Blake, your mother and I think we have come up with a fare punishment for you to suffer", my father says with the same evil grin Alex was wearing earlier. "You are not aloud to go on the Europe trip with all your friends this summer".
"But you already said I couldn't go on that trip the first time I begged", I say looking at my father in confusion.
"Actually your mother last night convinced me into letting you go, we were both going to tell you tonight. Until I got a phone call from one of the maids on duty complaining that its the third time this week she's had to clean sand up after you. You had blown any chance of going on that trip as soon as I ended that phone call." I swear my father is really enjoying this, that evil grin got even bigger.
"Blake, sweetie please go pack your suitcase for 'the family vacation' we leave tomorrow night". Oh now my mother decides to speak up, thanks for the help mum, really appreciate it.
I get up out of that uncomfortable chair and slowly walk back to my room in defeat.
