A beautiful woman in a purple gown strode into the hollow tree and started grabbing bottles of herbs and tossing them into a cauldron. She sighed. "David, we have to give her a wish, because she must continue my family's lineage." The man across from her held the 'she', who just happened to be Lacy Burrbringer, of the duchy of Pubinaia. She sounds quite important in the given context, and you also may be confused as to how you cannot remember this child, but you mustn't get your hopes up about racking your mind, because, Lacy, in fact, is from another world. Technically, it would be 'another universe', but that would be a bit extreme given the fact that in the future, Lacy will know none of this.

The woman Tanya, Lacy's mother, was mixing and mashing the many ingredients together, until she took a break to breathe,  and decided that that part was complete. Once Tanya had caught her breath, she looked downwards thoughtfully, then moved next to her husband. "There's one last step..." David brought his eyes up to look at her. "Which is--"

"Me"

"What do you mean?"

Tanya lifted up the edge of her skirt, and pulled out a cruel looking dagger. David's eyes widened in confusion, fright, and thought. He then looked  at the ground and tried to forget the moment by hastily memorizing the pattern of the floorboards. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, but I need you to do this. It's a sacrifice we both have to make for our daughter," said Tanya, edging the handle towards David. Yet again, he thought for a moment then spoke in a soft voice. "I can't do this..."

"Then I will."

She firmly clutched the dagger in her right hand, and then without further ado, plunged it into her heart.
