All I see is darkness, all I feel is fear, and all I was able to do is fall freely in the air as I scream with despair and betrayal.

*********

I woke up, covered in sweat as I sat on my bed. My eyes scanned through the dark cold room I'd been living in ever since I turned 16. Not being able to find any danger I calm myself down and glance at the alarm clock. 5:30 a.m 30 minutes until I have to wake up and prepare breakfast along with other omegas. 30 minutes of telling myself that I can't just randomly fell into a big dark hole. 30 minutes of convincing myself that it was all a dream. Sitting on my bed for around 15 minutes I finally decided to get up and change.

"Julia are you awake? You are suppose to help in the kitchen according to the schedule ." I heard a soft and bell-like voice outside my door at exactly 6:00 am. According to the voice I heard it's supposed to be another omega, Zoe, she was actually the cousin of the beta, but since she was not able to shift at the age of 16 her rank was lower to omega.

I opened my door and face the blonde hair beauty who was looking at me with frightened, wild golden eyes afraid that she will accidentally wake any of the higher rank members and get punished. I smile softly at her and walk to the kitchen with her, as Zoe told me before I am supposed to help cook in the kitchen, according to the schedule stick on the side of the back kitchen door where the lowest rank members, omegas, walk through. Zoe is supposed to help set up the tables and clear the tables after the higher rank members finished eating. Well, guess I will have to wait until higher rank member enters the woods and start training in order to chat with my best friend.

Waving a goodbye at my best friend,Zoe, I put on my apron and look at today's menu, I need to cook scrambled eggs for the pack today since my name was written next to it in the menu. Suddenly, someone patted me gently behind my back and turning around I saw my friend, Jack smiling at me. Wait, or is it Alexander, I always have trouble telling them apart since they are twins, dirty blonde hair, tan skin, muscular, 6.3 foot tall. Such a shame, if they are able to shift they would probably be pack warriors since they are tall and really strong when I say really strong I mean like extremely really strong for a human.

"It's Jack," looking at my confused expression, he smile at me gently, despite his build and look, Jack is actually a big softie like his brother. "You are kinda blocking me from seeing the menu."

Turning back around, I realised I am standing in front of the menu blocking everyone from checking what they are supposed to cook today. Blushing I moved out of the way and start preparing the scrambled eggs for at least 100 members. The pack I belong in is the Fire Light pack one of the largest pack and the cruelest. Normally every werewolf has an element for power, fire, water, earth, air, light, darkness and just like the name of my pack most of the pack members in my pack specialised light and fire. Most of the pack train all of their members no matter what element power that member has, but not the Fire Light Pack. My pack only train members with the power light or fire, the other member whose power is not either one of those will become omega along with the members that are not able to shift. This is what makes my pack one of the strongest, but at the same time it's also our weakness.

The sound of the members in my pack walking down from the stairs woke me up from my daydream. Looking at the clock on top of the fridge it's already 8:00, breakfast starts at 8:30. Grabbing the plates I start putting the scramble eggs on it after that I pass the plate to the meat station and let them put their food on the plate. After I finish putting all the scrambled eggs onto the plate, I heard a bell ring telling pack members that breakfast is ready.

Ten minutes later I finish cleaning my station and Zoe came back smiling sadly at me. Immediately I put down the pan I was holding and hugged her, omegas crowded around us knowing what happened to Zoe. As the cousin of the beta, Zoe used to be one of the most popular girls at school, but popularity always comes with a price, on the outside Zoe live a glamorous life, getting whatever she wants, popular and pretty. However, she has close to no friends, well, she has 'friends' but all of those 'friends' only stick with Zoe because of her popularity. When I was in school with her even though we are in the same grade and often in the same classes I never have a chance to talk to her since she is always surrounded by her 'friends', of course she has some real friends but they all soon stop talking to her after her rank was lower to omega because of their family. Nowadays she gets bully a lot because a cousin of the beta not able to shift? Sound like a joke to you right?

All of the omegas were never treated well I admit I never treat the omegas well before I became them when they heard that I became one of them instead of hating me they helped me mentally and physically. However, Zoe here is a special case as the cousin of the beta everyone has high hope on her but when she reach 16 and not be able to shift every hope that people had for her was crashed. Her fake friends realise that being 'friend' with her will do them no good, so they left her. Her family thinking that she was a disgrace, so they also left her. Her real friends family was against them being friends, so they are also forced to left her. Slowly and painfully she began to lost everything she once had. From what I heard when Zoe join the Omegas, she refuse to talk to anyone because she is afraid that they are going to leave her, but she slowly warm up to everyone and, in the end, they all became friends. Even though she has us she is still lack of self-confident, unlike the girl I used to know in my school, her family and 'friends' likes to take advantage of that and make fun of her whenever they have the chance. That is why Zoe prefer working in the kitchen instead of serving pack members, actually all of us prefer working in the kitchen.

"Everything is going to be alright, trust me," I told Zoe as I hugged her hoping that will comfort her.

"We both know that is not true," Zoe said softly as tears threatened to fell from her face.

"No everything is going to be alright," Smiling positively at her hoping that this will add to my efforts to calm her.

Even though I look so full of hope on the outside, but on the inside, I know that this world is not like all those fairy tales you've read when you were young. This world is cruel. This world doesn't give you happy endings. So, that is why, be careful on what you say. And, don't ever make any promises you can't keep.
