Missing person. That was the only word flying around the town, as well as other rumours. The minority were saying it was just another one of her adventures. That she was young and just wanted to have fun. That she would come home soon. But the majority, was saying something different entirely. Panic. Niall hadn't moved from his position on the dusty ground since 5am, cops bustling past him constantly.

Once the call had been made, and the dreaded words, missing person, had been said, the sirens were heard loudly in the dead of night. The dead in Niall's pounding head. The alcohol having it's after effects. Niall's eyesight was still on the hazier side. His head was the same.

"Sarah's Father?" A deep voice broke the never-ending train of thought in everyone.

"Yes?" He spoke to the still unknown voice. Niall lifted his head to see a man dressed in uniform, still simply trying to process people's words. He watched the conversation unfold.

"Hello Sir, I'm Liam Payne. I'm heading the investigation. We're going to have to ask a few questions." The lines came out clichéd. How sick Niall felt. As if this were all a play. And whoever was writing it was a sick bastard and Niall wouldn't mind shoving his hands around their neck till they turned blue.

"That's not an issue." Sarah's Father said formally, a cough rising in his throat as if to notify that if he didn't cooperate that Niall would be the one turning blue instead.

"We just need an account of what happened last night to begin with." Liam spoke. Niall, barely blinking, scrambled through his head to collect his thoughts, but all he could see was her light brown hair and hazel eyes. Fück. He could hear Sarah's father talking about times and locations, but it was muffled. The whole situation was unclear. Niall's head was a war zone. Trying to get it to work with his mouth was like a puppeteer trying to make his puppets move with broken strings.

"She was wearing a blue dress. It was blue. Childlike. She was wearing blue." Niall tumbled out stupidly. "Fairy wings. Stripy tights. She was wearing blue." His words fell down the stairs.

"Blue dress. Got it. Is there anything else? You were the only one with her last night and the last person she had contact with before she-"

"Dancing. We were dancing. There were people everywhere. Always people." Niall kept muttering, cutting off the officer's statement completely. Niall didn't want to hear it. "It was around 11pm when I noticed she had slipped into the crowd. I let her go for a second. I knew she would be fine. She's fine..." The latter he drifted into a whisper.

"You seem distracted Mr?.." Liam tried to gage names. He needed to figure this case out quickly. This girl couldn't have gone far.

"Horan." Niall spat quietly and like all of his other answers, very distantly.

"Okay well, was either or both of you intoxicated in anyway?" Liam asked seriously.

"Yeah." Niall mumbled, too tired to care for the officer's interrogation.

"Speak up kid."

"Yes, alright. But I was drunker." Niall snapped.

"What about you head home. Sleep off last night and I'll call you back when we're ready for questioning." Liam's compassionate nature, yet often enough impatient nature, was showing. He needed this half drunk kid off his back.

"Questioning? What the hell am I, a criminal now?" Niall yells. He's not himself.

"No, it's just to get some information. We all want the same thing here. We want Sarah home." Liam says calmly remembering the times he has met Sarah. He once escorted her home from the beach when she "accidently" jumped of the forbidden peer. He didn't actually mind. It was one of her adventures. Somehow along the way she had convinced him to pull up and get ice cream. Pure adventures. She had probably taken everyone in town on one adventure or another. Everyone knew she was different. She was the light of the dull town. Liam had to remain professional, but he couldn't help but remember those times.

After more mumbles Niall dusted himself off left the grounds without a hesitation of turning around, fearing that if he did he would see Sarah and could confirm his insanity. The walk home was long because of how far out they were from town. He felt his legs aching. His head aching. The whole town was aching in her absence. Niall felt the familiar dullness of the town as he began to enter it. There if there was ever a sign of energy, it was when Sarah would run through the town square as a child.

He continued down the barren streets, a few little coffee shops had Sunday morning goers. Niall could've lowered his head if he hadn't have seen him sitting drinking his tea. Good thing the tea drinker noticed Niall, as he quickly finished up and jogged outside the small establishment to greet Niall.

"Looks like you've had a big night, ay Horan." He said with a cheeky glint in his eye. The exact same glint as his sister.

"You could say that, Tomlinson." He mumbled. Niall had known Louis since they were kids. It was all because of Sarah. All everyone's lives, any happiness had been connected to Sarah. The whole community was practically bound together by her laughter. Niall was barely drunk anymore, but he was drunk on her. Zoning in and out, all he could picture was Sarah.

Seeing as his head was moving at dinosaur rate he only then started wondering why Louis was so cheerful. His sister was missing.

"C'mon Niall! You look so down. What's up? Come in and have a coffee with me." Louis has always tended to get his spirit off his sister.

"Louis. Hasn't anyone told you?" Niall said, preparing his bluntness. He knew he couldn't say the next statement with emotion. Louis froze.

"Sarah's gone."
