3rd person POV
Dec was sitting on the floor in his room playing his Sega when he heard his name being called by his mam. Dec came barrelling down the stairs to see Ant standing at the door wearing sunglasses and that only meant one thing, and Dec didn't like it. "Let's go up to my room" Dec says pulling his sleeve to direct him towards the older boys room. They played Sega for about half hour before Dec looked over to see Ant taking his sunglasses off and the bruse looked even worse today. "You should tell your mam" Dec says taking a sip of his water, "she knows man...she can't stand up to him because he would hit her too, I'd rather him it me than her" Ant says not knowing that Mrs.Donnelly was standing in the doorway, "how long?" Mrs.Donnelly says walking into the room, both boys stutter as Ant tries to think of an excuse, "how long what?" Ant says looking down, "how long has your father been hitting you? And don't even think of lying to me Anthony" she says in a very stern voice, "a couple of months I guess" Ant says with tears coming to his eyes. "You boys stay up here for a bit" Mrs.Donnelly says while rushing back downstairs. Two hours later and Dec having to comfort Ant after he started to cry, the boys were allowed to go downstairs, they walked down slowly to see Ant's mam, Ant's mam rushed to her boy and gave him a big hug then pulled Dec in for a group hug, "thank you for looking after my boy Declan" she said kissing his forehead. "You and your mam will be staying with us for a while, now go wash up for dinner" Dec's mom says to Ant while going back into the kitchen. After a lovely dinner both boys were snuggled up in Dec's bed wearing nothing but boxers, "I wish I could've protected you Ant" Dec said kissing Ant's neck, "it's alright Decs, I'm strong" Ant says turning his head to kiss Dec on the lips and then turns off the lamp, Ant fall asleep soon enough, "he is the strongest boy I've ever known" Dec thinks to himself as he too fall asleep.
