Scars

Dec's POV

Ant has a lot of scars now. I hate his dad so much! He doesn't even deserve to be called a dad. I remember one time Ant came to my house early in the morning and he had a cut lip and a black eye, I snuck him up to my room and we sat on my bed for 45 minutes before Ant said anything, he just took his shirt off and showed me all his scars and he had some fresh cuts too and I couldn't stop myself from crying.

I can't help but lightly run my fingers over the old wounds when me and him make love, he's always so gentle and it just hurts so much knowing someone was so rough and cruel to him. If you have ever met Ant you'd know that he is the most gentle and kind human in the whole world, he'd protect me from anything and he's literally my knight in shining armor.

Ant had a scar on his lip, 3 on his right arm, 2 on his left arm, 7 on his back (his dad used to belt a lot) , and 6 in total below his waist, I have kissed everyone of those, scars all 19, while Ant cried. I'm not very big or strong or intimidating but all I wanted was to be able to stop him from hurting and I couldn't. I'm a lousy boyfriend.

"I see you ya know...staring at me scars when you think I can't see you" he tells me one night, "I can't help it...they're--he--I just...can't help it Anth, you got hurt so badly" I reply and he smiles a bit, "I know Decky, but I'm alright now because I've got the best boyfriend in the world and we're going to get married and have kids one day and none of these scars will matter then...they don't hurt anymore, not when I'm with you." Thinking of that conversation hurts because Ant is so strong and brave about this and I'm not, I should have been comforting him not the other way round.

When I think of Ant I think of bravery and strength, if we were wizards he's be a Gryffindor...I'd be a Hufflepuff. Ant is always there for me and always will be because he's far too nice to leave me, I don't deserve this man but I'm far too selfish to let anybody else have him.
