Sarah's POV

I growled as I search through my closet for that shirt I got from my best friend, who is a rock star. It's been almost a month since I been here. I found out my dad had died. It's funny though. He was still young, I think around 35 or something like that. I did have a choice not to take his job as chief, but I always wonder where he goes. I shook my head and continued looking through my closet.

"Where the hell is it?!" I growl as I stood up. I ran a hand through my short shoulder length hair.

"It's on your bed." A young woman's voice said.

"Thank you." I said as I turned around and found my shirt on my bed where she said it was at. 'Huh?!' I thought and turned around to see a young woman standing in my room. She quickly covers my mouth bfore I could scream.

"Please! Don't freak out!" She said and I glared at her.

"Ok. Wrong thing to say. Do you remember me? Little rose?" She asked. I narrowed my eyes looking at her then I spotted the rose I had planted. The woman takes her hands off my mouth.

"How did you- wait a minute. Who and what are you?" I asked sitting in my desk chair and crossed my legs. The woman sighs.

"Well. My name is Rosie. Hint the rose and I'm, I guess you can say a monster. A plant one that is." The woman or Rosie said. I hummed as I got up. I circled around her as Rosie shifts from one foot to the other. I stopped in front of her and held out my hand with a smile.

"I'm Sarah. I'm going to be the new chief. I heard about the prison full of monsters. Why are All of you in prison?" I asked as we let go. Rosie nods.

"Well. I can't really tell you that. The only monster who knows the whole story is Jason. And he's not going to talk about it at all. No one goes near him because they're afraid of him." Rosie said.

"And are you afraid of Jason?" I asked. Rosie looks down at my rug I had on the floor and nods.

"A lot. I don't know what to do with him. He's my best friend. I love him like a brother. And I'm his half sister." Rosie said as she looks up. She had tears in her eyes. I hugged her as she cried.

"Hey. Its gonna be fine. If it helps, I'll try my best to see if I can get Jason to tell me what happened tothis lovely town." I said and felt her nod. A few minutes passed and my bedroom door slams open. We both looked up to see my aunt, uncle, and my cousin there. Rosie quickly wraps vines around them before they could scream. I closed the door after looking around for anyone and explains the sitution to them.

"So you're telling us that your father was the chief of that prison we were warned not to to to. And now he's dead and you accepted his job as chief. And the rose you found is this monster." Vana said and I nodded.

"Yep. That's pretty much it." I said. Milly rans over to Rosie and hugs her.

"That's so cool!" Milly said.

"Please keep this a secret. About me being here. Most monsters seen outside the prison are killed." Rosie said and my family nods.

"Totally safe with me." Milly said as Vana and Frank nodded. I looked at the clock.

"Shit! I have 20 minutes to get to the prison. Rosie changed back into a rose." I said and Rosie nods. I tucked Rosie behind my ear and wave bye the my family. I got into my car and drive off towards the prison. 'i hope my dad's job isn't too bad.' I thought as I drive out of town and down a dirt road.
